Its legit. I wanted to change my Hotmail password, an access code was given to me via telephone from this phone number.

I agree. This phone number is nothing but a scam. Beware.

EXACTLY same thing happening to me. I don't have a yahoo acct and I have not requested an access code for anything. This is PURE SCAMMING at it's best.

Some banks, utility companies and other institutions use automated phone systems that automatically recognize the number you're calling from. It's a scary thought to wonder whether someone is spoofing your phone number and those systems are divulging information about you as they think it's you calling from your home phone number.

Called yesterday -- Sunday the 16th August-- caller ID is Bohl, Jose. No message was left. This has to be some sort of scam or phishing, as I am not digitally advanced, do not have or need codes, never requested any, etc. ....

Plus500 use it to verify your phone number so do a lot of companies for email phone etc verification

I also recieved the same massege via text through my cell phone with the info about the five digit code; after I went through the process I realized it was a scam to gain acess to my e-mail account I'm from South America so be ware of these HAKERS!

Received a call today at 7:21a.m from 714-868-0120 Buena Park, Ca. I do not have a Yahoo, Google, Hotmail or FaceBook account or any accounts setup with these four companies. I hung up as soon as they said thank you for using Yahoo Phone verification.

This number was automatically blocked three times between 5:10 and 5:20am thankfully cause I would have been really possed off to get a call that early in the morning from an unknown.
