yup got a call at random n they would hang up soon as i spoke...is there a way to kill them?
They have called twice in 2 days, and have asked for my husband(by name). I told them that he wasn't here and "this is his wife, can I help you?". Yesterday's response was "No, we just wondered if [husband] was there, we'll try another time." Today's response was "Tell him this is Shane from Publishing". They refuse to talk to me at all. When I asked for them leave a message, they said they'll try back next week.
I just got a call from this number saying I won a $1,000 online shopping spree through an online registration. They asked me my birthday, if I was single or married and if I had a job. I recently graduated college and do not have a job yet so they said they would call in a few weeks to see if I had found a job or not. That was what led me to believe it was a scam. Did anyone actually ever receive the $1,000?
They claimed that they were calling from Publishing on behalf of my credit card provider. That, for being such a good customer, that I was being sent bonus issues of magazines. When I said that I don't have any subscriptions, I was told, "Oh, we're not selling you any magazines. And it doesn't even matter whether or not you read them. You are being sent bonus issues for being a good customer with your credit card company."I asked, "So this is done through my credit card company?" The response was yes. I asked which one. All that she could tell me was "Member Card Services Department." And then she immediately wanted to verify my name and address. When I interrupted her and repeated, "Which company? Because if this was authorized by my company, all of that information would already be on file." She repeated the Member Card Services Department and made it clear that she wasn't trying to sell me anything, that it was through my credit card provider. That all I needed to do was to select the magazines I wanted and provide my credit card number. Obviously, I told her to go pound sand, I wouldn't confirm any information, and not to send me a thing.
No catch huh? Funny, I used to work for the same company and know exactly where its located. Nice try with post cause everyone knows its a scam AND FOR THOSE OF U WHO FOLLOW THRU AND BELIEVE THIS U ARE IN FOR SERIOUS TROUBLE AND DEBT PROBLEMS!!!!! Next time when they call ask how much the magazines cost and for how long. Add it all up and then see really the shopping spree if its free or not . Not to mention shipping and handling charges are expensive!!! Read my other site and u will see.
I had the same experience as Annapolitan, only the caller already had my correct name, address and phone number, which is a bit scary. She tried to use that information to convince me that they are a legitimate company, but I wasn't convinced. I told her I wasn't interested and she said that the magazines are free, but that they still need my credit card number! I said NO THANKS and hung up.
Wow! Two years ago I posted many blogs about this company and yet still the same thing. The best thing u can do is just tell them u have the wrong number or they will keep calling u! When they call do the math. Ask what the mags cost per week and for how long. The shopping spree is a thousand dollars but the mags cost about 700 bucks after ur done paying for them and the shipping for the gifts, cuz its done online, is very expensive and totals more then a grand. If u see a number show up with the all star publishing just don't answer. They never take ppl off their calling lists either. They will tell u they will but in a few days ur phone will ring and it will be them again! I used to work for this company. Want some real advice? Go to their office in the badger bldg in superior, wisconsin on tower avenue. Go to the second floor. There's their office! This is a legit company and not ppl focusing on fraud but their scam is the magazines and its a rip off!!! Half the ppl u talk to there are just high school workers that's why they seem like they have a lack of knowledge but don't let them fool u n say there's not a manager or supervisor there. That's complete bs! When they say there's no manager tell them to connect u to the gift dept so u can talk to the supervisor. Don't let them fool u n say they're not there. Really now, have u ever heard of a telemarketing company without a supervisor? Who manages the calls then? Hmmmm.... Well the truth is exposed!!! BEWARE!!!!
Yea its sad to say that there are ppl who get their shopping spree but when their credit card bill comes in the mail their jaw hits the floor and realize they were hooked in on lies, deceit, and a rip off but by then its too late. U don't get the shopping spree unless u give em ur cc # and are transfered to the gift dept. I used to work for these ppl but when I found out it was all about ripping ppl off I quit! I pray no one gets sucked into their scam!!!!!! Now the company is real and legit but its a scam as far as being free!
