Best thing I have found to work is a whistle. I tell the kids to cover their ears and I let loose into the phone til they hang up. I can do it with my fingers and it is super high pitched. Can you imagine wearing one of those headsets and having a mega high pitch blast come in a direct line into your ears.Asking, hanging up...nothing works like the whistle and they DO stop calling
I found 37 of these Michigan area code numbers that have been harassing people and they are all ultimately connected to the same telemarketing company.I called the Michigan State Attorneys office and filed and official complaint and then sent one in writing.I was told that they are very busy and unless they get several compalints, they address something more pressing. When they do pursue these places, there is a $2,000.00 fine per complaint filed. Get them where it hurts and file a complaint with the Attorney Generals office.
Folks,It’s not the NRA , (National Rifle Assoc) and never give (or do), anything for American Heart Assoc. AHA, American Diabetes Assoc. ADA, or American Lung Association, ALA. They are using commercial fund raising services. Robot calls are made to see what times you answer your phone, telemarketers get the report times and start to call you. Talk to them if you’re lonely but remember,,,,,, THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY, it’s their 50% commission that keeps them calling!Do get caller ID, buy an answering machine, or change your number because calls start from 8:01 AM to 8:59 PM, seven days a week. I'm terminating our landline soon and will start to use cell a phone.
We continue to get calls from this number and it hangs up as soon as we answer. We get calls throughout the day until about 10:00 pm. When I call the number back, it's always busy.
Rcvd a call from this number today. The female caller said she was requesting a donation for The Disaster Relief fund to help the poor people in the disaster being reported on. Told her I donate to a known charity, the Red Cross. The odd thing was I had 10 minutes before the call donated to the Red Cross.
Please consider this: by responding to this call you may actually be making things worse for yourself. You are providing proof that your phone number is a valid one. The person on the other end of the line is then able to provide (sell?) your number to others, who will then annoy you with more calls. The callers know that sooner or later they find someone who will buy what their selling. And, if they annoy others in the process, it's all part of the game. Several years ago the leaders in my community were discussing selling public information to make money to add to the budget. They saw no problem with their plan, explaining that the information was "public" information. They were planning on selling printouts or electronic lists of information about the citizens. They made it easier for scammers and conartists to learn information about your property value, your income, your phone number, your date of birth, and possibly your social securit number. The community leaders were thinking short term. This was years before anyone knew how this information could be used to annoy or harm others. It's better to be safe than sorry. Before you respond to an unknown number, do research on the internet. This site is a great place to start. Read the articles found here. You will learn how to protect yourself.
That number should be a landline originating from Ann Arbor, Michigan and is provided through Comcast Phone of MIchigan... Contact number should be 800-XFINITY (800 934-6489)
I didn't answer; they left no message. Hopefully this is not the start of yet more incessant telemarketers. Caller ID: Ann Arbor MI
Got a call from this Michigan number at 8:21 pm. No answer. They've called before with noone answering. Luckily I had bought my new house phones specifically for their call block feature. Took 3 seconds to add them to the call block list. I think I paid $80 for a set of 3 Pansonic phones from Walmart. Well worth the money.
