Caller ID says green drop llc - I answered, female said she's from Greendrop and seeking for old clothing or items...I stopped the script she had and said I'm on DNC list...and Mark her list that and do not call again...hung up.
The government does not care. Think about the last time the FTC or FBI did anything about mass marketing fraud or bait and switch operations. The government organizations do not care about the grifters running phone scams and bothering millions of Americans. SIDENOTE: Do not be fooled, telemarketers can trick you into calling them and act as if they are the company you dialed! They do this when you misdial a phone number and when they spoof other numbers, you could be calling the VA, IRS, SS, disability, unemployment offices or just calling the number on the back of your credit card/debit card/gift card and hundreds of legitimate companies such as Bank of America, Chase, Capital One, Progressive, AFLAC and hundreds of other companies! Bottom line, the company rep you reach should say not only their name AND their company name. You should not have to ask, if you have the wrong company or they did not proactively say the company name, HANG UP! Do not listen to their pitch, they are lying, scheming telemarketers tricking people into calling in because people are not often answering their calls now. You have been warned.
I never called these people except once when i answered an ad for a driver job. I found it was for GreenDrop and never made an interview because its not what i thought it was about. I have been harrassed ever since by these calls to donate something. Ive told them no so many times, but they dont seem to care. Its a shame how these people operate, collecting items from people and just selling whatever they get. If they honestly cared about people and not money, then why put those of us who do donate for good causes thru such relenting harrassment, to the point we dont want to donate anything?!?Today i got 5 calls in under 1 minute:GREENDROP LLC(757) 233-9146NORFOLK, VAAdd to Contacts - Call Forwarding - Call ScreeningThursday | September 15, 2016 | 12:21 PM EDT | 0 secondThursday | September 15, 2016 | 12:22 PM EDT | 0 secondThursday | September 15, 2016 | 12:22 PM EDT | 0 secondThursday | September 15, 2016 | 12:22 PM EDT | 0 secondThursday | September 15, 2016 | 12:22 PM EDT | 0 secondThese people use computers and programs to make calls a person couldnt, thanks to Viop services from ISP providers. This gives them (and scammers) the ability to bombard your phone and overwhelm Screening and Call Waiting features. Most carriers with good block systems work and those bombardment calls are stopped, but not everyone uses carriers with good systems. This isnt a Charity who cares about helping people in need, its a company that cares about how much money they can make off other peoples sympathy.
Do the "organizations" not realize that they are turning off potential donors due to their association with Greendrop?
See postings below. This is a for-profit company that collects donations, sells them and gives 20% to the non-profit organizations that contract it, like veterans' organizations. The non-profits charitable organizations look at it like 20% of something is better than 100% of nothing. I answered and donated a kidney. So far they have not been by to collect. Probably trying to figure out how to get their 80% share.
skirting the law through technicalities does not alleviate the intent from BEING CRIMINAL. These are scam artists making themselves rich off the generosity of others. Report to the FTC as a CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION AND DEMAND THEY PROSECUTE
