The caller ID was RESERVATIONS. I could not get to the phone to answer it but that is the one thing I could see while it was ringing.
Received a call 4/21 circa 5:30 p.m. and said we had won a trip to Williamsburg, etc., and that we had filled out an entry form at a recent auto show in Richmond, VA. Said call was being recorded. Asked specifically if they were selling time shares - and the answer was extemely vague and then wanted to know our income, etc., and I hung up.
Got a call said it was from an SGK Gun Show, its possible as I frequent gun shows, but then they called saying won a free stay at Massanutten resort and a free stay at another location. The first person couldn't provide much information but said they'd pass the call on to the reservation person Dana even gave a prize code 48771 and said they were giving us a gift card of 50$ visa. The code entry took "some time to load" and then they talked a fast game about the area and things they like to do how they are a great parent and made their childs day by taking them there (heard our child in bkgrd) THEN THE CATCH: We need you information so you can put $75 down and never pay a cent more and it is refunded. Us: Why cant we call the resort ourselves and register, never an answer just more talking Them: All we need is the 75 on a card I understand the hesitation Us: can't we use our gift card to pay for some of the fee?Them: No that is a prize the 75 is for the room. and Massanutten needs to confirm and then you get your money back. Let me talk to your husband (to my wife)ME: Click
unfortunately these people had a big booth set up at our state fair and my hubby thought what the hell- a raffle for a $200 gas card. now they are calling saying we were selected and want to talk to both my husband and I. if you truly won a raffle just send us the card. I will not be answering the phone when they call back (they left a voicemail). thanks for the info.... my caller id said "reservations" which raised a red flag.
I have also worked for this company and I can atest it is absolutely NOT a scam. The company offer a morning shift and a night shift so call could range from early morning to late night. The customer is only called often because it is a limited time period to redeem your offer. Plus, if you didnt want what as offer then you wouldnt have submitted an entry form.
I worked for the company and I can atest that your credit card information would not be distributed and is completely safe. You do receive a refund along with all your offers. I'm sorry your husband made you miss a great opportunity.
Definitely NOT a Scam!!!!!!!! Please dont miss out on a great opportunity. People are afraid of the unknown but Im here to educate you. Your credit card information is SAFE, you do get your money back plus more, and free vacation stays. Even if you still not interested just stay on the line to help pass the call over, it just might make an employee's night.
Caller are not allowed to say WIN, WON, FREE, or CONGRATULATIONS or they are fired on the spot so, I doubt if anyone said free. It's not free because you have to place a fully refundable deposit. PLus, you would still be in the running for that $200 gas card. Sorry but, you just missed out.
Notified me that I had won some prizes from a contest I entered, ended up being a pitch for a Williamsburg time share. They got rude after we said we were not interested.
Major TCPA violations for this company. Not only did they call seven times in 3 hours, but four of those calls came after 9pm Eastern (local). Not to mention six ohose came after leaving a voice mail. I've spent over a decade working in call centers and this place is just begging for a huge fine and regulatory action. If they play this fast and loose with one law, why would I even think of giving them a credit card?
