Called up my coworker and claimed his computer was sending error messages to the Microsoft main server because his computer was infected with viruses, called him back numerous times. Had an east Indian accent and the number can't be called back.
Well I did it..picked up and said they called a crime scene and asked them how they knew me (well the victim) they could not really say, so I said "I see you called a number of times today, so you must know her when can you come down for questioning" no more calls :)
I ignored the first 7 calls from this number over 2 days. Finally on the 8th call I answered just to see WTF. Dude with east asian accent tells me he is Steve calling from "PC Reserve" or some such BS. Had to ask him to repeat it a few times b/c he was so hard to understand. He said he was calling about all the popups on my computer. I played along for a few minutes. I asked if he was causing the popups, he said yes. I could have had more fun with him for awhile but didn't have time to waste. I told him to never call my number again and he hung up. Will be interesting to see if they call back.
I got a call from 800-123-4567. The person who called had a Middle Eastern or Indian accent. He said he was from the Microsoft Windows Support Desk and my computer has a virus. He wanted me to go to my computer and let him take controll remotely so he can fix the problem I told him I wasn't home and I would have to call him back. He then gave me his name Pete Martin phone number 323-366-9976. I asked for his email. he said stevewilson257@gmail.com I ask him why the name was different. He said it was his supervisors name. Any way I hung up with out giving him any information. I googled the 323 phone number and it is a fraudulent scammer. I reported it to the federal trades commision. Go get em Guys.
Got a call from this number and someone (east indian accent) said they were from telus and I have won a free cell phone. They asked how many cell phones I have with Telus, I replied 1. He then ask for my address so that they can ship the phone out to me. I didnt give it to him and I knew he was going to ask for credit card info soon, so I started drilling him with questions. I asked him how he got the number because this is a work cell phone, he said it is a predictive dialer (which I doubt because they have called many times over the past month and this is the first time I am speaking with someone)Then I asked him what city they are based in, he replied Brampton, Ontario. I then asked for his full name and rep #, the [***] hung up on me!Scammer!
It's the 2nd time I get the same call as everybody else. A guy with an East Indian accent tells me that I've won a free cell phone. Both times I've yelled at him saying that I was not interested and to leave me alone (I knew it was a scam - Telus would not need to ask how many Telus cell phones we have with them since they would see it on their computer screen, and they would not need to ask us for our address since that's also on their computer screen)... So I yelled really loud at him and hung up.I hope the [***] has an 'in-ear' headphone so that it hurt his head bad. Next time he calls, I will be ready with a whistle. Let's see how he will like that! Bloody scamers!
1800123456Just got a call from this number. Man with an Indian accent said I had won a free cell phone and wanted to know how many cell phones I had. I knew instantly it was a scam and said I wasn't interested. He asked why, for "quality assurance purposes." I told him that I didn't believe it was Telus and hung up.
