Not a Scam, they are a Collection Agency, and one of four agencies used by the IRS. Had a call this morning regarding a prior tax client whose return I had prepared several years ago and had Tax Information Authorization or IRS Power of Attorney on file with the IRS. I did not have the authorization form any longer so could not get any additional information from them, nor did they request from me. Representative identified herself and was professional and cordial and simply wanted to further know if I wanted to represent the client, which I declined.
