I have received calls from this number in the past month. They never left a voicemail. WFS is Westlake Financial Services, out of the Los Angeles area. I believe they provide high-risk auto loans, and provide collection services to other lenders.

I have been receiving almost daily phone calls from this number for months now. In the voicemails they leave me they claim to be Wachovia Dealer Services. I have never bought a car, taken out a bank loan of any sort, or even had a bank account with Wachovia!

Same as above. Purchased a new car a week ago from ANOTHER Bank and WFS calls me and wants to "verify" my information. Folks...NEVER verify any information over the phone. Ask them to send you a letter.

I received a call, but didn't answer it as the number on the caller ID was not recognized. An automated message was left on my voice mail, asking me to return the call. I called, but was unable to connect with a live person without providing an account number (I'm not a customer) or a Social Security number. Needless to say, I didn't leave that information.

Part two. I received another call today, but with no message. I called back and went through the menu system as if I were going to apply for an auto loan.I reached a live operator fairly quickly and he requested my account number (I'm not a customer of theirs, and never will be). I said I didn't have one, and I mentioned the reports of their telemarketing practices.At that point, I requested that I be removed from their list. I also said that if I received one more phone call from them, I'd file a complaint with the state's attorney general's office.He began by asking for my name, but I told him that all I would provide would be my phone number. He took that information (I heard him typing -- could have been emailing his girlfriend for all I know), and hopefully that will be the end of it.

They called me today, and the phone rang only once. When I checked the caller ID, the number was 1-800-289-8004, which I did not recognize at all.Since the phone is a cell phone, and I pay for all minutes both incoming and outgoing, I don't answer calls unless the number is recognizable.After that, I used "www.dogpile.com" to check out the number, and found several references, one of which is this web site.Why is it that these chowderheads don't leave messages?

This 800 289-8004 has called us several times, twice today at our home phone looking for a Ellen Johnson. I've told them that she doesn't live here but they keep calling. This morning a woman with a mexican voice and tonight a guy. The people who lived here before us weren't even named that.

they called me to from 8002898004 if you answer the operator or employee are so irate and they LIE about their status and what they claim they will do and i simply told the woman my number isnt listed and i dont have an account with you. needless to say she was upset now they harrass me DAILY. calling from several different numbers i just dont answer anymore

I'm getting calls from this number. Said they were from Wacxhovia Dealer Services. I AM doing business with Wachovia, as I just bought a new car and am financing through them, but they called saying something about a survey and wanting social security number to confirm identity. They were hung up on immediately. Since I am doing business with Wachovia, unlike the other posters here, I don't know what the deal is here.

My cell phone receives calls from this number at least once a week for the month & a half I've had this number. Today was the first time they'd left a message and labeled it as "urgent". I finally called and got to an operator and told him the situation. I never gave my name, only phone number, and he said he will be filing a claim that takes 7-10 business days to investigate. I told him that if I get a call after 10 business days, I'm filing a claim with BBB & State Attorney General.
