8002941855 attempted to reach me yesterday, but I didn't answer. They did leave a voicemail about possible fraudulent charges. I listened to the voicemail and called into another 800 # to verify. The person that answered stated that was not them that called me??? The next morning the original 8002941855 called me again and left a message. I called the number back this time. They stated they were for Wright Patt Credit Union and suspected fraudulent charges. Legit number.
Call my bank...they verified the number was the automated fraud protection number.... they provided the details.
This was truly a call from Wright Patt Credit Union (or a service they use). My daughter has my wife's card going into Canada and they were concerned it is fraud. Glad they called
It really is WPCU number. I am talking to them right now and I would suggest calling them yourself before reacting to this if you are in any doubt.
800-294-1855 is a legitimate phone call from Wright-Patt Credit Union's Fraud Prevention Services. I called WPCU directly using another phone number to ask them about it, and they told me that phone number -- they said the number without me providing it first -- is legitimate. The automated call is generated when your account is triggered for POSSIBLE fraudulent activity on your card, so, in my case, it wasn't; I just happened to buy something overseas for the first time using that debit card. This "unusual" activity -- i.e. something I've never done before with the card -- triggered this call and action.
called me 4times on sunday evening, each call about ten minutes apart. this is VISA fraud prevention.
They said to call this number that they were Visa Fraud protection. Is it really Visa Fraud or a fake?
Caller I.D. said Out of Area didn't pick went to my bank and nothing was wrong with my card
I would imagine this is fraud. It immedietly asks you to dial your visa number which I would not do and do not trust. I would call the 800 downey savings phone number and ask them what this is about. 1-800-9-downey or call your local branch. Downey savings has been experiencing a lot of fraud and it talks about it on their website. www.downeysavings.com
