Same here, my wife filled out our names at Schuamburgfest (ugh. I tell her to NEVER to it, but she does it anyway) it's a timeshare deal.
to me, they seem legit! they called me twice - both times telling me where and when i entered sweepstakes - and they were right - i was there and did enter. first time they offered me 2 nights in Vegas (airfare included) i could not get me and my g/f to get there together (their office is about 45 mins away) ... and she explained they have a limited number of vouchers to give (that DOES make sense). so i forgot about it ... then after being at an event again, i filled another out. this time i took them up on it. i was offered 2 nights at any marriot in the usa ... and $300 free gas. so the gas there IS a catch - you need to buy $100 in gas from ONE company in a calendar month, save your receipts, send them in, then they'll send you a $25 gas card ... and they'll do this 12 times. well - with gas prices today, i'd have no problem doing $100 in gas in 30-days ... but their website tells you that if you don't spend that much, to let them know you don't drive and they'll give you other options.there is no such thing as a free lunch. they want ppl to come in to listen to their service ... and hopefully you'll want to buy. of course the only way is to offer you something free. the gas cards establish brand LOYALTY for 12-month period, which means you'll be there regularly and maybe buy coffee, pop or sandwich, too ... so from a MARKETING perspetive, if you look at the whole picture - it's a WIN-WIN situation for both.
Got a call from Nicole yesterday! Entered a draw in Hoboken.Sounded very suspicious so I told her I'd have to look into it and get back to her. I won't be!Thanks for the info above!
She called, left a number 18003097000. Said i won something from a form i sent in in august at some download tour. No idea what she was talking about. Glad i checked the internet to see what the hell that number was, it sounded exiting...
didn't answer but they left a message about me winning a trip to florida...and contacting them to set up dates.
Called claiming i won 50,000 and a cruse.. didnt even know my name and called me patel.. i'm not indian tho. I asked this lady where i signed up for this and she said 6-flags hurricane harbor. I was like WTF!!! i was there when i was 13 and i'm 19 now. for sure scam. Ima call em back and [***] with em.
Scam along the same lines as everyone else. A woman has called twice, I apparently entered into a contest at a Flyers game and won a Hummer, though I don't recall being to any Fliers games in at least 6 or 7 years.
ya same [***], i was at a phillies game drinking, filled one out, been calling me leaving me messages every few weeks, it seems ive won something different every time hahahhaa [***]
Called at 8:30am on MY CELL PHONE!! I never entered the sweepstakes or would ever give out my cell phone. It was for a 3 night stay at a Marriott, yea right!!
"Jenny" called me this morning because I "won" a cruise + airfare to the Bahamas. I didn't answer because it was an 800# that I didn't recognize. Her message said that I filled out some type of form at a Phillies game. I have never in my life filled anything out a Phils game, except for the occasional *anonymous* all-star ballot (which consists of poking holes for votes, NOT providing ANY personal info or writing anything at all). After thinking about it, the only way I can be traced to the Phillies is through either (1) online ticket purchase (via official Phillies web site), or (2) use of (Citizens Bank) ATM at ballpark. The sad thing is, vultures like "Sundance Vacations" will continue to operate and harass alert people because despite vigilant consumers like us, there is a sucker born every minute. I like Faz Man's idea to call back and "f*** with em." Won't change anything, but damn it'll feel good.
