I recieved 2 calls so far. One saturday, and one today. telling me to call 1 800 414 4352, and gave me a referrence number??? This call was also appearnetly from a Mr. Newhouse? what the heck! who are these people! i didnt think anything of it until, i looked up the number! i new how weird it was for no business name to be mentioned, and wasn't about to call back not knowing who the heck they were!

....so i googled the number, and found many sites with this number, stating "Scam!"

Yep -- I keep getting calls from Mr. Newhouse's electronic secretary. At first I assumed it had something to do with Columbia House Records... (yes, I took the 11 CDs for a penny a million years ago) Now, I'm not so sure...I do know I won't be making that toll-free call anytime soon

got a call from these [***] for me to call back at 1-800-414-4352 and use the ref number they gave me. went on the computor to check it out and find there are more people with the same problem. dont know who they are but i sure aint going to call back and let them know i received there message. looks like a big personal identity scam.//// anybody got some answers to this thanks

got a call. my wife picked it up and they tricked her into giving the phone to me. they said this is nco financial..... i told her in no uncertain terms to f..k off and dont ever phone this number again. this is pure [***] from columbia house records. they get u to sign up and they send u garbage. i sent it all back, never got a refund. they kept sending cd's i we sent them back not the idiots want me to pay more...... for what there cd"s r pirated and used cd's from rental houses. anybody got anything to ad to this as im tired of 3 - 4 calls a day from these [***]

Funny thing is I received a similar message couple weeks ago, also unknown name and number, the ironic thing is I recevied another call last week from a different number 866-623-3584 both being the same company NCO. They told me I had debt to clear up, I basically told them send me the information in the mail and I would be glady to pay up. They asked me to confirm my address. I said if you have my number you have my address you know my name shouldnt be hard to find. Never received any paper work no more phone calls. Make sure you do your homework make them prove it before anything is done.

i keep getting the same call from these people, I found out that if you answer the phone and give your name and address and confirm you phone number and any other personal information, even though you are not the individual in debt they consider you that person and the collection date starts all over again for that individual, the company has a 5 year time frame to resolve or dissolve the problem; therefore don't return the call or return any mail to them. The poor person who they are trying to track down will have bad credit continuously for life.

Extremely annoying the amount of calls they make to my cell.

They called me twice and left a message: "Please call us in an important business matter." And then another woman's voice gives a reference number. Weired. I am not calling tem back.

I too have been recieving these "you have a very important buisness matter...." along with a referance # to call back with.I won't call them as it's on my cell phone and they won't leave a message as to who they are. And like others have said, if they actually knew who I was and really needed to talk to my, they'd have all my personal info to get in touch with me in a professional way.
