Same thing kinda happened to me when the 5 month old Dell Dock system stopped working and they wanted $130 to fix it because software isn't covered. I just took it to my local computer repair shop in Boise and the removed and reinstalled the program for $45. I wasn't going to pay them the money to fix thier own software.
This is Dell CS. I had a problem with my computer yesterday and called to fix it. They called me back later in the evening to discuss further. While I don't have a huge problem with the Indian CSRs (though they are difficult to understand, yes), I do have a problem with the hard drive problem that was the issue with my computer - only being 6 months old at that - and a problem with the high pressure to buy warranties. Total crap. I have been resisting Macs for years now and I may just have to make the switch to save my sanity.
Under the pretense of being Dell Customer Service, this is actually a sales call to try to sell an extended warranty, more RAM memory, etc.
called my cell @ 630AM PST and did not leave a message! good to know that is is probably Dell
This is my work number and they called 7 times between 5:56 PM and 6:51 PM. The calls went into voice mail three times but there was nothing there. That was just last night! They never leave a message but you can hear someone in the background!
Received a call on my house phone from this number claiming to be Dell Tech Support, and after listening to some guy with an accent drone on and on about discounts, he wanted to ask for my Social Security number and mother's maiden name. I simply hung up the phone, as this was NOT legitimate! I did purchase a laptop from them last year, but if they were a legitimate Dell spokesperson, they would not be asking for my Social Security number and mother's maiden name. SCAM.
I have had more than 100 calls from this number in the last week. Over 35 just today. When I don't answer they either leave a blank message or hang up. Some calls are just one minute apart. If I answer the phone they hang up on me.When I call number back I get absolutely no help.
Dell has made a very poor business decsision in outsourcing this tech and sales - I am so pissed off at them that i will NOT recomend Dell 2 any one. there customer support and sales practice is the worst i have ever heard of or seen. Dell had been a repetable company in the pased that is untill THIS CRAP. These people don't care and do not understand business. BEWARE of Dell's Service - that BAD Uncaring Service - NO MORE...................
It's Dell, but it was no big deal I ordered something then cancelled it and they were just wondering why.
