Dovenmuehle Mortgage1 Corporate Drive Suite 360 Lake Zurich, Illinois U.S.A. Phone: 800-669-0340
Scam number. Didn't get a call from them, but got a manila envelope hung on my door with a cheesy-looking yellow paper inside. No logo, no company name spelled out. It had blanks that were poorly filled in by hand. It read, IMPORTANT, PLEASE CALL.." then had a 'name' blank with the initials PLS (presumably Payday Loan Store) crossed out, followed by "DMI" with Dovenmuehle Mortgage's 800-669-0340 number below that. Then (in English & Spanish) "PLEASE BE READY TO PROVIDE YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER. WE ARE EXPECTING YOUR CALL TODAY." It has "SPI-020-12-09" in the bottom right corner, which appears to be there to give the appearance of a form number to add some level of authenticity to it. We have had issues with our USAA mortgage because of job issues, but there is absolutely no connection at all with Dovenmuehle Mortgage. I can only conclude that they are yet another scammer that preys on people by randomly checking for credit issues. Anyone that purports to be a company that offers any form of credit can access your credit report for a "soft" credit inquiry. Once they find that you're behind in payments, that you have a collection against you, etc., they then frighten people into to either paying them money or they simply trick you into providing enough personal information (like your full name, birthdate, SSN, home address, etc.) so that they can either sell that information, or so that they can use it themselves in a hundred different ways to extort money from you through scare tactics. Don't fall into their trap! Legit loan companies will correspond with you through the mail, on printed letterhead, with information sufficient for you to know the communication has a reasonable chance of being truthful. Don't call using any phone numbers provided by emails, mailings, or some envelope someone hangs on your door. If you are being told that you're delinquent in a loan, by all means look into it if you're not sure, but use telephone numbers from known valid paperwork or from the company's website. Remember that there are a lot of scammers that will send "phishing" emails that will use a company's logo and use lingo that sounds legit to get you to clink on a link (which then infests your computer with malware) or to get you to call the provided number to con you into giving out personal information. Though much more rare, this can be done with the US mail as easily as it could be done by email. As for Dovenmuehle Mortgage, there are a lot of horror stories about them on the web concerning scams they've pulled, so be very careful with them.
Receive the same envelope ND msg ND my daughter notice it was fshey so we are going to report it to the police
No, it's actually dovenmuehle mortgage. They called to remind me that my mortgage payment was due.
Everyone else says they received an envelope, yet you received a phone call? Why would they need to call you to tell you that your payment was due? Were you late? I've never, ever gotten a call from a creditor of any sort to remind me to make my monthly payment. At least not until I was actually late that is. Also, if you knew who called you, why did you take the time to look up this number? There wouldn't have been any reason to.
Just got an envelope on my door, December 24th 2016. I'm 2 weeks late on my payment to my mortgage company. I'm doing an interest rate reduction to lower payment due to loss of hours at work. What scumbags.....
