It's the American Red Cross. Out of all the calls I get, this one I can stand. People talk all the time about "giving back", maybe we should start with something like this. Why get so angry, just be polite and say no thank you, or go give life-saving blood if you can. What if it were your family member who needed that blood donation to save their live? Just chill everyone and get mad at the real robo calling bad guys.
If that's who it is, I wish they would identify themselves! I'd be much more likely to pick up if I knew it was the Red Cross, but when they're identified as "unavailable," I naturally think it's some pest. Ironically, I coordinate a blood drive at my church and give regularly.
I'd love to donate blood, and I've done that many times. But due to a trip to China, I am not suppose to donate blood for another six more months. I explained to them many times, and they are still calling me NON STOP! It's getting really annoying... sorry, I had to complain to somewhere
You are exactly right ChrissMarkey! I am a 6 gallon donor and also used to donate on the cycle at the church I donated at which was about every 60 days, give or take a couple of days. But a few years ago became anemic so my dr said donate no more than once a year--and only if that doesn't cause my iron level to drop too low. I too get calls on average of 5-6 times a month and after explaining the situation at least a dozen times and telling them if they didn't stop calling me I would not donate at all any more, I have stopped answering the phone and stopped donating blood. I am not going to continue to put my own health at risk just so I can be harassed on a regular basis. And "Concerned Citizen" are you actually concerned enough to be a 6 time a year donor over many years, or are you only concerned about other people's business?
Stop the fricking calls to my number- i'm on the do not call list.Nobody is giving me money..... I am certainly not looking to hand out any money.. And if and when i do, i will contact you, if you are my charity of choice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amen! We are tired of multiple phone calls asking for blood and/or money.Have you seen the Red Cross National Headquarters building? The multi-million dollar "non-profit" is far from needy... more like greedy. Hiring outside "telarecruiters" is wasteful! (not to mention, annoying) From reading all these comments, the excessive calls discourage donation, rather that recruit. The Red Cross does help people in crisis (home fires, floods, etc) BUT they send those folks a bill after the crisis. It's appalling! The Red Cross corporation needs to use their funds wisely and stop abusing the donors. These calls are abusive! Even when asked, they continue to call. Enough! Tired of it!
