The exact same thing displayed on my caller ID as well - my own botched name and number. Same robo call gimmick and intro. I pressed 9 to talk to an agent and then my inquisition began...ME: What number is this calling from? I do not appreciate your company using a PROXY to HIDE the number you are calling from.AGENT: 1-800-800-3000. It is for your own safety and security. Yada yada make sure we got the right person.ME: My own safety and security?! What is more secure would be you being more honest and revealing where you are calling from.ME: May I have the agent to whom I am speaking with?AGENT: Joe Joe Schneider (so believable)ME: What country of origin are you calling from?AGENT: Abu Dhabi...ME: What is the nature of this call?AGENT: You pressed 9 because you were interested in lowering your credit card interest rate.ME: Uh huh...nope, I pressed 9 because "Do you even know the name of the person you dialed?"AGENT: I just have the phone numberME: I am not interested. Please removed me from your call list.AGENT: Okay, F*ck you.How professional...So please be aware, yes this is a scam. I bet they would have probably asked me to give them my personal information, full credit card number, social and so forth.
I had the exact same experience. When I told the guy - also with a heavy Indian accent - that I wanted him to remove my name from their calling list he told me he had no interest in doing that. What a jerk!
Just got a call that showed up on caller ID as our company name and phone number. The individual said his name was "Tim" and calling from Account Services. I asked for phone number and website and he said his phone number is 800-800-3000 and website is youjizz.com. What an idiot foreigner!
Called today from a local number saying that they had an offer to lower my APR i asked what number they called from, they gave me this number. I told them I was googling the number while were talking. I then asked for an address and he hung up.
The initial voice message said that they were calling about my credit card. There was no problem but they wanted to talk to me. I have gone to their unsubscribe options several times and have spoken with representatives asking, telling, demanding, yelling for them to cease and desist. Today I was nicer than normal. They hung up and then I got a call with a very unpleasant set of instructions about what I could do with my request.
robo call i get many times each week on 3 different phone lines all from the same number saying the same thing. call states this will be the last time i hear from them about lowering my credit card rates as my time now has expired. that is, until tomorrow when they call again. reported it to the do not call registery but it still keeps calling.
