I got a call from 1-877-539-1136 from a lady who left a voice mail called Jessica and her extension was 2917054. She said in her message that she was from capital one. The weird part was there was no record of this in my incoming or missed calls, just a voice mail was left. So I called the number because she stated that she had a very important message from capital one for me. I dialed her extension and she answered. I said you called and left me a voicemail. She said can I have your social security number to verify who you are. I said no and what is this about? She said I cannot tell you unless you give me your social. I hung up and called capital one phone number from my statement. They said they had no record of any calls for me or anything that I had to be told and don't give your ss out to anybody who calls asking for it and this is a scam that is going on. The guy up top must be in on it because this is definitely a scam! If people call you asking for your social, you must be nuts or have bad credit anyway to give it out.

This is Capitol One positively.I got a call from this number they left voicemail as Capitol One and left number 877-539-1136 for me to call back. I called back the main Capitol One number on the back of my card because of the comments on this posting. They confirmed that the dispute department had called me and gave me the time and the reason for the call. I have an ongoing dispute that Capitol One is working for me. That was what the call was about.Please note this is not a SCAM as reported.

Received a call from this number from Capital One Card Services

Received a call from 800-887-8643 and the person left a voice message. The message says he is from Capital One and is calling about a dispute. He said I could reach him at 877-539-1136 extension 2916290. I do have a Capital One credit card so I logged into my account from the Capital One website and everything looked fine. So, I called the 800 number that is listed on the BACK SIDE of my credit card, INSTEAD of calling the scammer's 800 number that was left on my voice mail. The fraud department at the REAL Capital One said it was not them that called me. I gave her the phone numbers that the scammer left on my voice mail and she made a note on my account with those numbers. Do not call back numbers left on your voice mail, instead, always call the number you have on your credit cards and statements.

Anyone claiming this number is fraud is and IDIOT !This is Capital One. They called me about a dispute I filed with the resolution explanation.

I had a call from a woman stating she was with Capitol One and that she was calling about my credit card application. I said I did not apply and right away she said that was why she was calling because some one had fraudulently used my info yet she would not read to me the info she had. Wanted to tell me how to protect my credit info. I think what she would have done is state some things and ask me if that was correct etc, hoping I would divulge info. I did not.

This number IS NOT CAPITAL ONE!! I just called them to verify. I have no clue as to why some people are swearing it is; they are either dyslexic or also trying to scam those viewing this website.

received a call from this number said it is a important call and said to call with the the case number. thiis sound like a lady voice spoke very low and the voice seem to fade out in certain sentences. also the call back number was not clear the whole conversation was not clear are understandable.
