This number is an automated phone system for CERTIFIED SUBSTITUTE SCHOOL TEACHERS. It is not a scam. The only way you can receive these calls are: 1. You are a substitute teacher and the school district(s) you sub in utilizes this system. 2. Your phone # at one time was registered as belonging to someone who was a substitute teacher, but now they have a new number and the company was not notified to delete the old number, or 3. If you're not a substitute teacher it is possible that a human accidentally typed your phone number into the system (wrong digit typed.) If you do not want to be called again, listen to the prompts and press the ZERO key, to permanently delete your phone number from the system and you will no longer be called.
I got a call this morning and couldn't catch the prompts to know how to respond. I waited for a repeat of the prompts but it didn't. Not a very good set up for auto-response.
This number is, in fact, a legitimate number used to line-up substitute teachers. That being said, the company that makes these calls should try to use at least a modicum of intelligence by presenting some useful information that can be shown on Caller ID. "NOT PROVIDED" is simply a stupid way of of alienating recipients of the calls. My wife subs from time-to-time, and recognizes the number, but I sometimes do not. I have been sorely tempted to block the number, but then I Google it and see that it is a sub number.
