If you are on the call list for an elderly person who wears one of those push button medical alert devices, all they are doing is their job. This is NOT a scam or sales call. I don't know anyone that far west either. When we signed up for the service, we were told calls would be from the Utah area. The number is now saved in my phone as the alert company. Are you on the call list for an elderly person? I'm ashamed to admit I ignored one of theirs calls. Thought it was a telemarketer.
Answer this call! It was my dad's alarm company telling me that the front door had been breached. False alarm as it was my dad's fault but this is a number you should answer from.
Absolutely answer. I missed the call, googled the number, got this site. I called my Mom first, and found out her electricity had gone off. It is a medical call.
I have a surprise for this "elder scam". The only elder I know has a certified letter from me which includes a notice that the letter addressee does not have my permission to share any of my personal information, including my current telephone number. It is not a real emergency phone notification which should be directed to the Senior Citizen Facility.
Answer this call !! It is from a medical alert monitoring company. I am a contact person for my sister. Received a call this afternoon. Thankfully all is well.
I am not a life alert call person and if I was I wouldn't use this phone number. It is a land line I have to have in order to have internet. I would have my cell phone as the number to call
This number called at work and said they were from one of our local fire and security businesses stating that our burglar alarm went off and they needed my name and password. First off, that's not a service that is provided by that particular local business for us and second it's during business hours. WE'RE OPEN! No alarms are set. I was dumb enough to give him my first name, but figured out quickly that the caller was a fake. I told him I didn't know what he was talking about and he wouldn't have received any notifications because it's during business hours. When I questioned him, he said he couldn't give me any information without my name and password. I told him I don't have a password to give him and he told me "Ok, well I guess we'll figure it out." then hung up. This is totally fake. It is NOT Life Alert! Do NOT give them any of your information!
I just wanted to update this. I actually called our local provider and they told us that this is one of the numbers for Avantguard which is a company that does monitor several different types of services like theft/fire alarms and Life Alert. They've called three days in a row telling us our burglar alarm has gone off and they needed our PIN to turn it off. Our local provider said we don't have a PIN set up and the alarm isn't for the security system it's for the fire system because they just update it and it was sending an alarm to show it was connected. I let the local provider know that the monitoring service needs to be a little less shady when calling asking for information like that. My manager also felt that it was a scam. Anyway, this does seem to be legitimate they're just not very good at instilling confidence to the people they call.
