it's a collection agency they also call from 864-641-3279 with a recording saying a civil suit is being filed against you- they never send anything to you in writing

They claim to be American Asset Center. I called and was told it was not a Debt Buyer or collection agency, which they are. Its a scare tactic. The attorney I is Mark Shapiro I am told. And do not admit to anything.

Scare Tactic! This is about a Zombie Debt well over 20 years Old,well beyond the 5 year Statute of Limitations in my State! When you call back that number the first choice is that if this is regarding a LEAN Placed on a bank Account Press 1,If this is about a Pending Legal matter Press 2 etc.....Got to admit their one of the best. Oh and the "agency" has no Web Site.

I absolutely LOVE getting calls from what one of you just called a "Zombie Debt", and this happened today. A recording calls my phone and threatens that a suit is pending against me, therefore I should call this number to resolve it. Everything stated above is true. The [Press 1] prompt refers to having a lien placed on your home etc. etc. I was just ready to talk to someone because I LOVE sending these to my LS attorney! Unfortunately, I haven't received a chance to speak with an associate yet. After I pressed the [2] prompt, I listened to music for about 5 minutes before I was told that "all associates were busy assisting other clients, please leave a message..." so I hung up and made this post. I was truly disappointed. I SOOOO want to send their letter over to my law firm so they can scare the crap out of them! *sigh* Perhaps I'll call back later! ^_^

I called my local sheriff's department and they said debt companies are regulated by the Department Of Insurance and that I should contact them to complain. Hope this helps...God Bless :-)

814-325-9538 called me threatening me with a law suit. I called them back as my message was only a recording. They were using my maiden name which I haven't used in 10 years. They said I had a balance with Capitol One which was opened in 2007 and paid until 2009 and Capitol One has been unable to resolve this debt with me for 1877. It was going to a hearing in the morning and I would be served papers But I could settle with them right now for 976. I currently have a Capitol One card so Im thinking Identity Fraud. They couldn't give me any info on where the hearing was or a number to contact Capitol One so I told them this sounded like a scam. Scary thing is she told me what my SSN# was, I asked for her supervisor and he immediately got on the phoneand my husband took over the call. He ended up hanging up on my husband and saying he will send the sheriff to my house and he will put as a refusal from us. I have googled this number, sounds like a magic jack in the College State PA area. Not sure what to do next as someone may end up giving these people money

I got this same recorded msg this morning. I called and he said it wasn't even for me that I was a reference for the person that will b e served. I told the guy I wanted the information since they called me and he refused. He told me he was going to send the sheriff's office out to serve papers. I told him I work for the local law enforcement agency and he said it didn't matter. One of my buddies would serve papers. He was childish, wouldn't let me get two words in, and hung up on me. Don't talk to these people! They are scammers.

This company is a scam .they tried to tell me I was subpoena into court. I called the court .the company that was suein. me and no one could find my name. the number was tracked to a land line in Pennsylvania .probably transfers to another country .I talk to Stephen foster from this company now he won't talk to me anymore. do not give these people any money if you owe it pay the court

Yeppp..steven foster called me too..he almost got me..when he asked for my account number I told him I was having a stroke....he wanted 1156$....or the sherrifs were coming to my house...I told him I will call him back.smh
