I just got a call a few hours ago from 814-325-9538 identifying themselves as the Criminal Investigations Unit of American Asset Center. They left a message on the answering machine saying that a complaint was being filed against me and I was the respondent in a court action in a order to show cause/restraining order, and that I had to contact them within 24 - 48 hours (or else).The [Press 1] prompt refers to having a lien placed on your home or bank account, and the [Press 2] prompt was for pending legal matters, so after pressing 2 I listened to music for about 5 minutes before I was told that "all associates were busy assisting other clients, please leave a message..." so I hung up and made this post.Thank goodness for the Internet :)

I just received a message saying there was a pending restraining order against me too. I know nothing of this so I called back and pressed 2 for legal matters, listened to music for awhile and then was asked to leave a message. I left a message requesting a call back, we will see what happens. From all my experience with legal matters such as this they will usually know my name and my address to mail me something or have me served. I'll wait this one out.....

i received a call from this # & thought it was a scam i called my lawyer & told him 2 give them a call.he talked 2 them about the sitiuation, got everything checked out it was sumthing i owed i paid it got my paper work n the mail.Im glad they called 2 resolve this

Thanks to the prior posts because the same thing happened to us. They left a message for my mother-in-law who is in a nursing home for almost 2 years now. The message said someone was filing a restraining order against her. Just as the other posts, called the number twice, pressed 2 and got put on hold. After 5 minutes a recording saying to leave a message. Well, my conclusion is if it's legit they need to send us something in writing and we'll look into it.
