I got this call and didn't answer. Called it back from a blocked landline and it stated "welcome to the Verizon Wireless payment center." Best part is I've never had Verizon Wireless. Ever.
I answered - said I was not offered my guest bonus gift after a stay at a hotel - did not mention the hotel. Said I had won a stay in Orlando and Daytona as long as I purchased a rental car from Avis, Alamo or somewhere else I can't remember - $298. Then went in to questions to help verify I was eligible for this offer. That's when I hung up.
I got a call this morning saying I was the lucky winner of a free cruise. I knew it was a scam at this point and hung up. Beware!
Do you really think being on a federal do not call list will save you ?! Ha! Oh yea.. Contact your atty general... He'll drop everything for this. Wake up people. Our gov. Doesn't have the monet to even run without raising their (our) credit limit. Do you think they are going to throw money at this? Honestly?
They got to my friend and her daughter's cell phone and home number.Left no message.Hope these scammers get taken down.
