I have an outstanding balance with Fed Ex and started receiving phone calls and letters from Synter. When I called Fed Ex, they said on 2 different occasions, that they have never heard of Synter. When I called Synter at (843)746-2200, which is the phone number on the letter I received and everyone else mentions, a woman answered the phone saying "Hello?" and then proceeded to tell me that this was the wrong number and that Synter is publishing the wrong number. Yes, best advice is if you owe money pay the freight company directly. Either way I would ignore Synter. It definitely smellys phishy.

i use to work there its not a scam. just poorly run and they have terrible communication with the company they are calling on behalf.

I used UPS for about 20 years, until I closed my business in 2006. In the last few weeks, we have received many calls from this group claiming I owe UPS $42.48. The last time I used UPS was last year, and it was a small box going no more than 400 miles, by UPS Ground. There were no problems, since I never heard from UPS, and the receiver paid the shipping cost, which was less than half of what these people want. UPS knows where to reach me, but I've not received any communication from them. This supposed company knows how to play with CID, but so do I. I'm checking with the credit bureaus, but they haven't received anything regarding this "account". I willl report this to my state banking authority asap.

These post are funny I have received calls from synter. You know what I did. I called them back and asked for the ups account and invoice number. Told them to stop calling me. Then called ups and they locked me out of my account for 25$ mother f***king dollars that went to synter during Xmas.

Also got a call from these guys claiming a past-due UPS account. Since I don't have a UPS account, it triggered the "fraud" button right away. Don't know who Synter really is, but there is plenty of fraud and complaint info with a few seconds of googling. Sent them a certified letter, have confirmed with UPS that I don't owe them anything, Synter looks to be a scammer.

Definitively an scammer, they have being calling my office every day since last week stating that we owed $ 28.01 to dhl. I have 2 accounts with dhl i called billing department and i owe nothing. I wrote down all the information from the call, started checking web sites, called the number and is an answering service. I entered their web page, just to check put the account they mentioned and my zip and is not valid, i have reported them to dhl. Do not pay anything to debt collectors call directly to whomever you supposedly owe.

Synter is a fraud!!!. They are now trying emails. They look very real and manage to get real account numbers. They must have some insiders helping them. Report them to the company they are claiming to represent.

"Hello, [name]. My name is Olivia Hartwell. Please call me at [phone number and extension] before 5:00 p.m. When you call you will need the reference number [ ___ ]."Nice, charming genteel Southern accent. Obviously a debt collector, though; and asking for a person unknown to me.I say, let 'em waste their time and money chasing after someone who (I'm assuming) gave them a phony number.

I received a call from Olivia Hartwell too, stating it's important that I call them back before 5PM. They gave me a case number, no idea who this is. I don't owe anyone anything. I'm not calling back.
