I had exact same thing happen, it's loud in background and sounds like a call center. They did actually have part of one of a clients name correct, which is concerning. And I refused to give any such answers to any of the questions. I asked them to put in writing and in US mail. Then a week later I got 4 more calls from same number and with a "reference case number." All with different people first names and saying on behalf of BCBS/Altegra Health. I will be filing fraud reports with BCBS tomorrow, since I just played the 4 messages from my voicemail.

I have gotten two calls from this company. I have given my fax number and advised sending appropriate records request. I made two calls and each time it rolled into voicemail. So far, no reply to fax I am an Ohio Psychologist. They claim they are from med mutual. Can't understand name of company because of foreign accent.

I got a call similar to everyone else, I'm a mental health provider and they said they were from BCBS and needed medical records for their audit. I told them my employers have all records at the corporate office and asked which company they needed records for. He kept asking for the records dept at my practice location. I explained I have 3 different employers and 5 different practice locations so he is going to need to tell me which one so I can give him their number. He said never mind I'll just put we were unable to obtain the records. That made me very suspicious so I called the number back and the recording said Altegra Health. Google tells me BCBS subcontracted with them to conduct some audits so it appears to be legit, they are just doing a crappy job.

They called me today leaving a similar voice message to the ones listed here. I called a colleague of mine who encouraged me to google the number first, and I'm glad I did! Found this page and now know it's scam. Whew!

Altegra Health, it's not a scam. Check with your insurance provider representatives. However, today when I called it back it, the same number they called from, it was the number to a day care center...they still asked for the 5 digit extension so idk wtf is up with that.

Read your own post and put the pieces together. They are pretending to be Altegra Health. They are pretending to be a day care. It is a scam. Just because Altegra health exists doesnt mean they work for them. The landing page for altegrahealth.com warns of scammers and imposters.

I received a phone call from “Delisha” asking for one member’s charts. She sounded professional. Almost thought i was being audited until my husband suggested i google the phone number. They have repeatedly called me asking for records for one of my patients. I called BCBS and they had not heard of Alegra (first company that called) and then today they told me their name had changed to Retarus. I think it's a fraud.

They left a msg saying they were change healthcare and requested to call back with a reference number in regards to a patient's medical records. I did not call back after seeing the above posts.
