Daily for a month we've received calls from 2 "Comcast" #s. The other #844-250-8578 indicates "Comcast" on caller ID, this one only had the # on caller ID. They leave a message on voicemail with very heavy static or poor grammar saying they detected issues on internet speed and need to make an appt. I called the main Comcast customer service # to confirm of it's a scam, and a tech with a very heavy accent said they detected service interruptions and asked if I had problems with internet or phone. I said no, but he said they need to schedule an app't to come into my home. I said no because I haven't had issues, but after he insisted there were issues, I hung up and blocked both #s.What scam is Comcast running to make even more service call money on top of my already astronomical monthly bill?
I have been receiving calls from this number for the past 4 days. The first day I answered and it was a man with a very strong Indian accent, could barely understand him. I didn't answer any following calls. Finally called Comcast today and they said it was a telemarketing scam, yet when they checked their system, they found a possible leakage and will be sending someone out to check it.
Got an automated message from caller ID with 215 area number. Called Comcast and they said something about an egress in my apartment and the people who called me were not committing a scam. They were already at my apartment in October for a signal leakage
I've been getting these calls since Dec 1. I decided to call the actual Comcast phone number. They told me they indeed had tried to contact me and would have a service tech come out on Saturday. No tech showed up so I called Comcast. They said the appointment had been cancelled, which wasn't done by me. They rescheduled for Sunday. A manager called me to ask why they were coming out, which I replied, you guys initiated the call so you tell me. The tech came out and did a wonderful job checking everything over, adjusted some fittings and such. Well...I'm still getting these calls so I decided to call the number back. I called from an unknown number, the non-native woman on the other end of the line didn't even ask who I was before telling me there had been trouble detected on my line. At that point, I told her I don't need diagnostics run, my Comcast is fine and to remove my number from their listing. I would say be very careful with these folks as they may be Comcast, but I would be sure to verify with your actual cable provider, and don't let this number run any diagnostics on your system! Seems fishy to me!
They call me daily from a blocked number. It is a man who calls on some days, and a woman on others. They have Indian accents. I DON'T HAVE COMCAST, NOR DO I HAVE A TV!!! I do have internet, but COMCAST IS NOT MY PROVIDER! How are people saying this is legit? Also, if it is legit, why do they call me from a blocked number daily? I have asked them over and over again to take me off the list. I told them they are harassing me, and the man stayed on the phone to argue with me and asked how they are harassing me. How do I make this stop? I block certain numbers that are telemarketers, but I can't block blocked number.
We regret that I didn't think to check out this number before we called it. We were returning a call left on our answering machine. 844-482-6747. Caller said they had identified a problem, asked me to make sure the coaxial was tight. I told them there are no problems at our end. Caller asked if they could run a test. I okayed it. I shut down my pc. A few minutes later, caller came back and said everything seemed find. Caller confirmed that she is a Comcast employee. I asked where she was geographically. She said India. When we check call history, readout for 844-482-6747 is 800 Service.
Entered Chat conversation with Xfinity. They looked into it for about 10 minutes and replied, "There is no trouble with your internet connection and you do not need service on it."
Some forgein lady called and wanted access to my comp. Wouldn't let her in, called Comcast and they have no idea why someone called me. Now you claim it was Comcast?
Legitimate --if annoying -- call from Comcast. I rec'd the same call/message as others about my internet speed. Afterwards I called 800-XFINITY and asked what their system said was the most recent call regarding my account. Once he refreshed his system the other phone call appeared, as well as earlier calls I hadn't mentioned to him.
