Scam, claiming that they are calling from service Canada. Immediately report to police because they will ask you to pay money or you lose your prevelege as citizen.
Scam. They called saying they were from service Canada, they knew a lot of my personal information which was weird. They asked about my vacation pay from my employer and my maternity leave claim. They didn't ask for any money or say I owed anything but they did ask for the last 3 digits of my social.....
I just reviewed a call from this number and after I listen to the message tried to call back. A fellow by the name of Bennit was what he left behind was calling.
they have called me twice now.And first time I asked what service Canada needed to inform me of that they didn't send a letter. His name is Dustin. And on call display it's 647 253 0550And he gets you to call his extension. Which is his text app. I know the numbers.Service Canada all numbers are 1800 not 1855Both times he's said this is a serious matter and I cannot discuss what it is until you give me your personal information to verify.I'm not stupid. Please stop these guys
I'm working at Service Canada and it's our phone number, and yes we each have a 10 digits extension. If we ask you to provide some personal information, it's to make sure that we are talking with the right person and exactly to protect your personal informations.
THIS IS A SCAM!! I too work for Service Canada & this IS a total scam! 1-855-249-2290 called me. Said he was Vincent Gauthier from Service Canada. I didn't, give him any info. I called the number he left me, got his voice mail, it sounded legit...but then I called the number for the supposed Service Canada Call Centre on his message (800-677-9915) & it's not a valid number! DO NOT SPEAK TO THESE PEOPLE!
He said he is from service canada and his name is Marilyn and was a male voice. Asked me to contact by 18552492290 ext 2503718072.
Said to call this number and enter ext# 7803410124 which is a cell number in Edmonton Alberta.DO NOT CALL
Got a call from 1-289-982-1559 apparently in Vaughn, ON. Woman calling, asked for me by name then introduced herself like this. "Hello Mike, this uhhhhhhhhhh .... Andrea from Service Canada regarding your EI claim". Red flag immediately, why don't you know your name? Then asks me to verify my date of birth for verification. I told her that I'm not providing her with that since she phoned me and I don't know who she is. She gave me a number to call her back on but was leaving the office at 6 (she called shortly after 5:30pm) with a 10 digit extension.Told me to call back at 1-855-249-2290 ext. 289-982-1159 (the number that originally called). Sure I follow the above link that "Not a scam" posts and shows that number is for Atlantic region which is not me.Reverse search the extension number and sure enough, Vaughn, Ontario.I'll just go into Service Canada tomorrow since it's so much easier.
