Called saying they were affiliated with RPU and asked for the last 4 of my social. When I denied them asking what it was about first, they kept repeating that they were working with a utility company and that I could also use my address to verify who I was. I asked again what the call was for and they would not tell me anything, so I told them goodbye. Glad I did after reading all of these comments.

they've called me 5 times at 3am and once just a few minutes ago!

I keep getting Robo Calls from this number, a 'collection agency' supposedly, but we do not have any overdue accounts as far as we know since no one we do business with has sent us anything but bills acknowledging appropriate payment. Scam? I only get a robot message, so it's not like I can talk to someone and I certainly am not going to call them and give them personal info. If they actually ARE a collection agency, someone needs to fire them and hire a new agency. Not just because they are never on the phone when you answer, but it is also illegal to send an account to collections that has never received an overdue bill - which if we had received a bill, we would pay.

Left 2 voice messages this week. I called back and told them I have no debts. A Mr.Cole said they were looking for one of my adult children, who has not lived at my house in over 10 years. I told them not to call again.

Got a call from 8555194476..... did not answer.....they left a voicemail-- This is Mrs Baker calling from Harris & Harris Debt Collector..... I did not call them back because I have no debt to be collected.....

They have been calling our house every day for about a year. It is always a recording, always asking for my husband. As far as we know, we have no unpaid bills and if this is a legitimate collection agency we would have received a letter asking for money and telling us to whom we owed money. We have never received a bill from anyone that wasn't paid and would have gone to collections and we have never received any written correspondence from Harris & Harris/Harry Hoover. I say scam. They seem to have many numbers to get by my call blocking, but I still have about 1500 more spaces for blocking. Block them and don't talk to them. If they were legit, they are required to send you written correspondence detailing the account and how much money you owe. I suspect these will never appear for any of us. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFO OVER THE PHONE.
