THese folks tried it on me today. No chance.

They called me today as "public yellow pages." The guy said that I owed $599.** for them running ads since 2009. When I protested he switched me to another dept. and said he would make note on my "account" that agreements were made against my will and that I shouldn't have to pay. Can't wait to chew out "customer service" tomorrow. So much [***]. I wish I would have known for certain it was a scam before I got into it with him, but the previous owner had different accounts, so I couldn't be sure at first.They'll have to get me in court before they get a dime out of me.

This some here."Public Yellow Pages". The operator said that my wife signed two yerars contract with them and she owe $ 599.00 now. Also the operator said that my wife authorized anyone /meaning me :-) / from the company to give out our bank informations so they can collect. Little they know that my wife is not the owner of my company so I hang up.

I got a call from these morons yesterday at our business while I was out on a job and they spoke to my wife and told her that we owe them 599 for an online add and that they have spoken to me and I ordered it. Only when when I returned and spoke to my wife she realized that "We just got scammed". We have someone in the company who is really good with computers and after a few google searches we confirmed what we had suspected. We found tons of pages of information and blogs about yellow pages scam and the fact that these people have been using different names to extort money from hardworking people like yourself and me. Please inform and educate yourself about this scam, tell the others and spread the word. As Mr. pretish mentioned in his posting, supposedly the think tank behind this scam seems to be these two people Cal and Marty and it's being run from Montreal, Canada. These people were previously running the same scam as yellowlocaldirectory.com and apparently during our research we also came across another website ypldir.com that looks exactly the same as yellowlocaldirectory.com and both of these are very similar to publicyellowpages.com and all these websites have resemblance in terms of design and content which confirms the fact that these scams are being run by the same people.We have reported these people to FTC. 347-418-0489 from www.publicyellowpages.com called 10/20/2011 saying my business was listed for 2 years and is expiring and if I don't cancel it I will be billed for it. Since I take care of everything online, I knew this was a scam.

I just recieved a call from the same # Mindy, stating my boss called to cancell our listing and wanted to give me a confirmation # Then they sent me to another deptartment for an confirmation # and that deptartment wanted to know If I could accept the invoice for 599.00 I said No! They called back to see if I had gotten the confirmation # I querred them, stating my boss had not called anybody and we had no account and asked who they were and why were they calling this company and they hung up on me.
