the do not call registry is a joke. I contacted someone once about the fact that I am getting calls like this (government, state, etc..) always when it is close to an election. The registry told me that they can not do anything about those type of phone calls, they WILL come through. What the hell is the purpose of having the registry to stop getting these unwanted calls if they are letting everything through??? I am hoping that these calls will stop after the election day 6/24.

They hung up on my answering machine. The caller ID says, "Research Center."

Caller ID says "Research Center". Left no message. Given the generic name, probably another scam.

I'm on all the DO NOT CALL lists, but still received a call from this number. It was an automated call, sounded like a prerecorded message and came at a most inconvenient time (dinner time.) Please do whatever you can to help us stop these intrusions.

Just received a call from here, a woman said it was a wrong number after I identified myself.

This number call every night around 7pm I would like to find them and shove their phone up where the sun don't shine.

Non profits, charities, political groups, and certain others are exempt from the Do Not Call restrictions. If you do not want them to call, you have some options. 1) Find a website for the group (you may have to Google the number or name to get an email address) and request they take your number off their calling list, or 2) just don't answer. They will get the message, but it may take then a while.
