Have called every day this week. Display reads "RENEWAL DEPT". There's a short blip of sound, music maybe?, and then the call ends. Tried to call back but it's not possible to call that number.

It is Water World magazine and publication water those in the water,wastewater and engineering field.

They called my office number. I never give this out to anyone outside the company other than My wife and a couple of my kids. They showed up as a missed call. If they call again I will report them to our electronic security team.

Caller ID said RENEWAL DEPT. I answered but heard nothing, then they hung up.

Thanks everyone. Particularly pb on 8/17/16. Has called office multiple times in past couple of days and of course we don't answer calls of this sort.

Publication company, they called and asked to verify 3 of our Doc's. I have worked here 6 years, and they were long gone when I got here.

No one ever speaks, hangs up after a second Hello and they call multiple times a day.

8/23/16 @ 1:09pm EST...Caller ID: asreceived (lower case); Call came in at my office, a number I don't give out because I don't take external calls unless I am expecting one. I did not answer, they did not leave a message.I looked at call log and on8/22 at 1:57pm and4:45pm they also called.I was out of the office that day. How strange the caller ID has "asreceived." Seems like a scam to me.

They call at least 5 times a day with nothing said or they hang up. I just pick up and hang up now, This is ridiculous.

They want you to renew a (usually free) magazine through them. However, you can go straight to the publication's web page and do the same thing. The questions they ask are verbatim from the website. That way, as a middleman, they can use your information to solicit other offers (both legitimate and illicit) on your "behalf", since the publications themselves will have some sort of privacy policy to prevent that.
