I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize and decided to check this one out to see what people have to say. After reading numerous reports, I'm glad I didn't. The Do Not Call list means nothing.

First of all, my daughter answered the phone. When I took the call, I learned he was from Geek Squad support. He spoke about a Trojan running on my PC. If you do a quick look on Google, you will find "csrsc.exe" is considered a Trojan. The Geek guy said we probably had it running on all our networked PCs (I don't network PCs in our house). It was running in my task manager, along with many systems including Java, etc. I did a quick check, and it was running on the two PCs I had up. Then he said he could fix my computer by going to his website. That is where the conversation ended. No one but me accesses our family PCs.fyi .......... read Google about "csrsc.exe" which is part of the windows operating system, at least it is for XP, Win7. When reading Google, don't stop at the first Trojan article. A further read as I did made it clear the software belongs on your PC from Windows.

Called me twice in one day. When I picked up the second time, this man with a thick accent said he was with the Geek Squad for Microsoft Office and that my computer was registering an obscene amount of downloads right now. He sounded so panicked on the phone. He said he needed to get control of my mouse so that he could repair the problem before my computer crashed. I asked him what kind of computer I purchased, he said one with Windows. He was very pushy and making it sound like it was life or death. I eventually told him not to call me again and had to hang the phone up with him. this is a SCAM. NEVER GIVE CONTROL OF YOUR COMPUTER TO A RANDOM CALLER.

Thick accent woman... terrible sweat shop call center background noise... calling from " Connecticut for Microsoft tech support". I offered to give her my log in, password and credit card number immediately. .. musta caught her by surprise. .. said she didn't need it, just for me to log in... I played along for a while and asked if they'd called to replace my computer the aliens had stolen. They hung up.

Get this call frequently. Never answer a call from a number I do not recognize. Let the machine answer and then answer if you recognize the voice. You could tell them you do not have to turn your computer on to tell them about JESUS. See if they call you again.
