hello there. i just go this call from 860-979-8899 at 12:42pm and said congraulations you won a prize from telus. please press one to calm your prize. i didnt press one and than agian it said please press one to calm your prize. so i hanged up. i called telus. and ask if i won a prize. they told me know. i dont see any thing on your account. they guy was not to helpfull just told me that is most likely a scam and they had a few reports on the number and said the number was from usa. noting help full. he told me to just not answer the number when it calls back.
Just got called. The recording was in Spanish. I'm with Verizon. I do know Spanish but still didn't press 1.
I'm also in Winnipeg Manitoba and got the same call. The automated-sounding male voice said congratulations, and that I had won a prize from Telus, which is my cell phone provider. He said to press 1 to collect the prize. I hung up.
Got this call at 2:54 pm on Monday May 18, 2009 to my Texas area code cell phone. I missed the call and they did not leave a message.

Claims to be from a roofing team. Somehow knows real name and city. I keep getting texts like this from different numbers, they stop responding when I ask how they have my number.
