Nopw tried that and they keep calling. I've begun to ralize they got my number for my signing petitions online. Credo, Sierra Club and others get your tel #from when you sign and then they sell your # to a third party to make money for their organization. Congress members do the same thing, especially Elizabeth Warren from MA. Do not ever give out your Tel # it is in no way needed by anyone for a petition.

They keep calling and not leaving a message , I have them blocked and on spam calls but some how they get through

Exactly... NOW you've got it! The FTC told me their job is to "follow trends," whatever the hell that means. They will tell you they aren't there to protect citizens. Their main job is self-perpetuation, at your expense, and YOUR job is to protect yourself. After a while, you will realize just how much time you've been wasting reporting spoofed numbers to them, and move on. This website is more useful. You should do the following when you get a call: don't answer... check Caller ID and listen to your Call Screening feature as it plays your outgoing recording. Scammers usually hang up, or play their own robomessage. Then come here to confirm there are other complaints, and you will validate your decision to not answer. You might even add your own comments here to help others.

Actually, most of them disconnect during your outgoing message and never get far enough to leave their own message, at least for me. The other few, at least for me, continue to run their robomessage while mine is playing too, and THEN disconnect. That is still better than answering yourself and engaging them, which will only lead to more persistence on their part. This is what I do: check Caller ID, listen to my Call Screening outgoing message and hear their robocall disconnect after the first few words, usually. In my own experience, the calls diminish quite a bit. Some weeks I get more, some none. it is never going to be cured entirely, any more than smallpox or tuberculosis will become a thing of the past. They are both epidemics. They will continue to create spoofed numbers and try to harm us, and we will continue to learn to protect ourselves. And voicemail may let them know it is a viable number, but it is worse if you pick an option to speak with and engage them. If a burglar bangs on your door, he knows it's a real address, but if you are naive enough to open the door, that is far more dangerous.

Criminal telemarketers fishing for personal credit card information. I told the perky female criminal that she had just called a public pay phone. As a result she told me that my phone number would be flagged for removal from their directory. Only time will tell.

They have been calling regularly for months. CID always says "Consumer Services" never leave a message. I've been ignoring them but today I decided to call the number back and see who it was. Got a voice mail tree with options to talk to somebody, or be removed from their list. Decided for now that removal would be great so I pressed 2 and the robot said I'd be removed. I'm skeptical but I can do something else when they cal back. I think the people who claim the scammers will somehow make my life miserable if I tell them to [***] off are delusional. What are they going to do? Take away my birthday? They're already a pain in the [***]. They have nothing on me but a phone number, I got nothing but time and their phone number the phone works both ways and I know I can be a pain in thier [***] when I flood thier phone number with rancid calls if they continue calling. Eye for an eye, that's what I say.It's worked for other idiots.
