Because, and I say this again, THE PHONE COMPANY RECYCLES YOUR PHONE NUMBER!! They are probably calling the number that was used by someone prior to you and you will continued to receive the calls unless you contact someone there to have your number verified as being a wrong number.. How much more clear can I make it for you people? Call to have your number removed if it's the wrong number. They do not pull the numbers out of thin air!

Great.. and then you get sued and then a garnishment or a lien against your property.. will you still think it's so great to avoid your responsibilities then??

In regards to your reply. I disagree with you this company is a scam and they call people trying to get personal information from them this is called Identy theft. They tried doing it to me but I put a stop it. If they call you send them a letter informing them to stop all calls and also call your local police department. Also more then 3 calls a day constitues criminal harrassment in Canada under the Criminal Code of Canada sec 264.

These people are scam artists. They pump you for personal information before telling you why they are calling, I suggest you ignore them and file a complaint with the government.

And I asked by my law professor and the clerks office, they both said that the company calling has to identify themselves and why they are calling. since they are calling you, the onus is on them to provide you with the information you want. And that you do not have to give out or confirm any personal information beforehand. I would never trust a company that won't answer simple questions about themself. Be very careful.You can file harassment charges and sue them if they do not do so and continue calling.I still say there needs to be tougher laws and restrictions on these people.
