this company has called many times looking for both myself and others whose names ive never heard of.today they thought they would be sneaky and try to get me on the phone (my husban answered) by stating that a "Rose Ranger" had given my name as a job reference. since i dont know anyone with that first or last name, we knew immediately is must be a scam.dont know what theyre playing at, but we have NO debts, and therefore no reason to be called. what a bunch of [***].
I am sooooooooooooo sick and tired of all these stupid idiots who have nothing better to do than take these jobs! What's worse is none of them speak english clearly enought to understand so my grumbling and telling them off isn't doing any good! MAN!
they have been calling me for weeks, saying I owe $280 but can't tell me what it is that I supposedly bought. They have no information about it other than it was 13 years ago!!!! They gave me a phone number to call Franklin Mint (who I supposedly owed) but the number was not in service. They could not verify anything for me, so I refused to give them information. They claim to be getting more information about the debt, but refuse to send me anything in the mail. A little suspicious? I refuse to give them any of my information. They claim it was on my credit bureau report for the last 10 years, but 3 years ago I bought a house and pulled my report from all 3 agencies, and nothing was on there. Nothing they tell me makes any sense at all. I've just stopped answering their calls.
they have been calling me asking for Gabriella for 3 years! I've gotten other collection calls for Gabriella, and so I assumed she just owes lotsa money and unfortunate me for taking this phone number. The wierd thing is, it used to be an automated voice saying pls hold, like others on this site experienced, and now real ppl are leaving voicemail msgs, asking for a call back Monday by 4pm. The next call Tues of this week said "I'd appreciate a call back". Whatever, these dudes suck and are clearly fake, but soooo annoying. I'd suggest y'all turn off your ringers before you go to bed! Wish there was a way to show them this site... I think if I ever get them on the phone I'll suggest they google themselves, lol.
This number keeps calling my house. I asked them to stop a few times and if they have anything to say to us, they can contact us by letter. The calls stopped for about a week or 2 but now they are right back to calling again saying to contact them by 'tomorrow at 4:30pm'. I know it's illegal for companies to keep phoning after they have been told to only contact via mail.
I've been getting the same calls but until today didn't know who they were from (had to pay for callerID). I also paid for anonymous caller reveal... does anyone know if this works? I might have to resort to call block but if they are phoning from multiple phone#s that will get expensive. Is there no "do not call list" or anything we can do through the BBB??
I got the call from this number this morning, and a computerized voice said "Please Hold", and a few seconds later some dude asked to speak with a Hilary Peltier. I said they had the wrong number because theres no Hilary Peltier here. He then said "is this 000-000-000 (not typing my real number here)" and I said yes it is. I also told them that I had an uncle named Hilary Peltier that passed away 10 years ago. Then the dude says "well we're looking for a Hilary F Peltier". I couldn't remember what my uncle's middle name was so after the call, I called my dad and asked what Hilary's middle name was and he said "Franklin". Weird!I called that number back again to get more info and all they said was "Portfolio Management Acquisition Compnay" and couldn't tell me what they do, only that they called for a business matter for Hilary F Peltier, LOL. Messed up!
We get calls from this number at least 3-4 times a day, they don't always leave a message, sometimes we get a message that starts with "this is not a sales call.. please contact by 4PM on whatever day.. I am getting really tired of it and am going to try to find a way to get them blocked or something. One day when I did answer it they asked for someone who I didn't even know, and then asked if this was the number ( and it wasn't even my phone number they gave me) when I said no and asked that they stop calling, they wanted me to verify who I was first, and I just said have a nice day and hung up, I just won't answer them when they call
Is it honarable to harass people by calling them repeatedley even though they don't owe any money, no it is not. Is it fair to harass people that are disabled and it causes hardship and or pain to just get to the phone, no it is not. You make it sound like everybody is able bodied and can get to the phone effortlessly, maybe it is you who needs to realize that life isn't just black and white and that all people who owe a debt are not bad people or freeloaders but just ordinary people who sometimes are put in that position through uncontrolable cicumstances. Collection agencies are not allowed to use any means of debt collection in which a person they are trying to collect from could incur a cost because of the action of the collection company. That would mean not calling someones cellphone as some people have cellphones that are pay as you go. People need to go online and read the e-laws that pertain to the collections act of Ontario or whatever province you are from and know your rights. Also it is important to report unscrupulous collection agents or agencies when they break the law. If everyone were to report them when they broke the law then government would see just how out of control some of these collection agents are and put more laws in place to protect people from them.
