Had 3 Apple ID verification text messages in a row, shortly followed by a call from this number. I did not pick up. I did not request the Apple ID verification. In the last hour I have had another 3 messages, don't know what is causing this when I didn't request them

This really is a number that Apple would use to call you from. But only if you have set up your number with Apple to be a "Trusted Phone Number" when setting up "two step security" for your Apple ID. Getting a call from this number to give you a "verification code" when you are not expecting one, could mean that someone has the password to your Apple account and is trying to hack it. If you never set up your number with Apple, it is likely someone spoofing this number. Does that really ever happen?

I'm in France. Il received today 2017 april 1st the same thing : 3 Apple ID written in arab language in a row, shortly followed by a call from this number. Stand by for me.

I received 2 text first, saying your apple id verification code is......, then phone call from 866-275-3866. I blocked no. Then called, recording asking for the code & with heavy accent. Hung up & called apple.....Apple said the never call & is def a scam.....Be careful....

Someone is trying to hack into one of your accounts

Ive got calls from this number and it's name is Apple. Must be some type of scammers, but I've read that they try to get peoples password. Good thing I didn't answer.

I requested Apple ID and then phone call.. very unusual.

This is an automated call from Apple to give you a validation code to validate a new Apple ID.I'm guessing if you get a call with this number that is not for this purpose, then it is possible that someone may be spoofing the same phone number and therefore should be considered questionable.
