So, when you click the link, under live toll free number you will see that the number has been registered under AT&T since 2009... I hope this clears things up about this number, but stay vigilant... I like that you all are concerned, you should be, its better to be paranoid and watch your back, it could save you a lot of headaches later, but remember if someone really wants to get your info, there are a lot of other ways they can do it.

Caller ID showed 866-471-3687 and the girl that left the message (yes, a live human, no recording) said the call was to 'see if we would like to get any AT&T services' and to call back at 877-677-3216

Well guys, just to burst your bubbles. I work for At&t as a sales representative and we are Legit Sub Contractors, just because the number isn't familiar with you doesn't mean that its not legit. This line is Specifically made for the reps to use instead of the shady Ipads we used to have. It's a better system because you can trust an actual Live at&t corporate employee... On a lighter note, I've been doing this for a very long time and there is not a person in the history to have gotten any fraud from these guys (us) .. we are specialized to give you things you can't get going on your public computer to retrieve the Uverse Services. To call the cops on someone who is doing this to make a living is caused from the culture that has been built around door to door salesmen, most open minded people will concur with me that any Uverse solution provider that has successfully completed there order is Legitimate. If you don't trust us, you can always place a no soliciting sign out :) at least... I listen when someone comes out and points at the sign... I'll still knock though, I've signed up plenty of people with them.. just be considerate that we're not out causing trouble and doing drugs. Good day people and good luck. It was a legit call. Friday I had an AT&T person here for a few hours I've had problems with my service and he upgraded all the equipment. A female agent called me the next day to see how things were working and I asked her to give me a couple of days to see. We made appointment to speak today at noon,unfortunately I did not recognize the number and did not answer but she did leave a message and she was checking on me to see if my service was up and running well and if I was happy with my service so yes it is a AT&T contractor, and she left a number for me to call her back if I'd like to. AT&T hires contractors to do repairs but the work for AT&T.

Woman came to my home saying she was with Davis Marketing Concepts who is affiliated with Cydcor. She claimed to be a door to door rep. Looked up Cydcor - terrible, terrible company to work for, based out of CA. She said I did not need to give my SS# but would need to give my DOB and set up security questions on her phone with someone. Never, never do this if you do not initiate the call to the company you want to deal with. I asked for information to check her out, called AT&T, her ID number did not come up. She was supposed to come by after her lunch. I haven't seen her.This has SCAM written all over it.

An AT&T representative came to my door saying that they could save me money off of my bill, and after speaking for a while I decided to go for it even though I was mildly suspicious at first when he told me he was a sub-contractor. I let him use my home phone to make the call to sign me up. My DirecTV and AT&T internet was installed three days later just like we scheduled at the door. The bill comes from AT&T and I can call any AT&T number to verify my account. This is not a scam, it is a legitimate order processing center for AT&T sub-contractors. I'm glad he stopped by and I'm now very happy with my services and saving $74 off my bill every month.

They used it to verify I pay my bills and don't owe AT&T any money before they processed my order. I have not had any problems since then, and my bill comes directly from AT&T like my cell phone bill.
