Says welcome to PSO. It's an electric company. Could be calling for any reason: past due account, service requests, etc.

This number is a company that gives courtesy calls 2 business days before electric service cut-off. I am an AEP customer, and while on hold I was listening to AEP usual recordings. The electric company outsources these courtesy calls. It's not a scam or anything. I got paid today, and am paying my bill @a payment center. My acct is due for disconnect in 2 business days, so I know it's legit.

My company got a call telling us to call this number - the message said we had an outstanding balance. I have our billing - we are current and our next payment isn't due for another week! This MUST be a hoax/phishing scam of some kind!

I just got a call from "Indiana Michigan Power" to my cell phone, with a recorded message saying I should call them back with my SS# and account # ready because I need to be serviced. My electric at my permanent address is my parents', and at school it's in my roommate's name... so I have no business with any power company.

Just got a recorded message stating AEP had an active workorder for us but in order to proceed, if I was the person responsible for the account, and had access to the account number or SS#, to call AEP back.This is a hoax. We do NOT have a workorder with AEP and our account is current, so it's not a courtesy call before turn-off either.

Kentucky Power or AEP Direct Collections

I got a call phishing for information. It was NOT concerning termination of electrical service. Woman on phone was asking for information about location, person info. etc. I gave her false info. to string her along to find out what the real intent of the call was.

It was and is a collection call warning of immanent shut off WITHIN DAYS (I was 2 days away). Pay your bill or make arrangements, I did, and it saved me a shut-off!(I am a customer of AEP of Virginia)

I called in regards to another person and not my account. They violated federal law by discussing the dollar amount without confirming that I was authorized to speak on this account. This company was attempting to charge this woman for electric bills that she is not responsible for. I am a professional who attempted to confirm her address and prove that she does not owe them money from the delinquent previous renter. They called me a liar, refused to confirm any information she or myself gave to them. I provided them with dates, phone numbers and addresses they told the client that they needed. They responded by yelling at me and refusing to follow up with any information. These people are not concerned with truthfulness or validity. They only care about money and are not afraid to threaten or bully innocent mothers.

AEP Ohio had a work order at my address and to call back with account or SS#. Called AEP 1 800 number and my account is paid up. THey did however say they do this before terminating service. After I thought about it and spoke to a rep I determined it was from an ex-roommate who had me as a secondary contact when he 1st opened his account. Now he is in collections so they called me!
