I got a call today from the 866-790-5600 number after I had sent them an email concerning my 1997 Park Ave that had a recall on it. I had gotten the recall notice from GM concerning the defective fuel line that said to take it to the closest GM dealership to get it replaced. I took it to a dealership called Grand Buick Automotive in Northglenn Colorado with the paper work in hand and that dealership said they would not fix anything because the recall did not happen. I end up buying a fuel line myself and having a NAPA repair shop install it. This shop told me I was not the first person that had trouble with GM refusing to fix recalls that had been issued. I no longer have that car and will never buy another GM car of any kind. GM lies to their customers and they will not make their dealerships do the right thing on recalls. It one would like to ride in a GM call that could be a death trap, go ahead because only now has GM come under the radar by the federal government for their gross misconduct concerning their recall practices. I wonder how many people that work for the federal government are looking at dumping their GM cars. GM sucks and should go the way of other under handed companies for dishonesty. If you would like to see the recalls on GM, look under GM recalls on the computer and you will find the fuel line recall that GM said never happened.
I left a message about a problem with the Saturn Vue brakes. They called back the next day to follow up. After briefly researching the 2008 Saturn Vue comments, I found three other verified reports about the Vue having problems with the brakes engaging by themselves. My Vue did this and the brakes completely locked up and got very hot in the process. Hopefully GM will address this before someone is seriously hurt or the heating brakes start causing fires. It appears this is a problem with bad brake boosters and or master cylinders. These are parts that outlive most cars, but not in the Saturn. So if you own a Saturn and start to have the brakes applying themselves maybe this will help. From what I see most repairs have started with an overhaul of ABS sensors and eventually wind up at the brake booster $2500 to $3200 later. One disappointment is that the call came from the Philippines. After the US bailout of GM (our tax dollars) it would be nice to see calls coming from people working in the US.
My 2008 Saturn Vue had the self applying brake problem also. First repair, new front brake lines $300; next new master cylinder $400; finally new brake booster $1000. Sad. I also know this happened to a friend who owned a 2008 Vue in the same town I live in. Anyone else with this problem on the 2008 vue should report it. It could help to file another class action lawsuit and get GM to accept responsibility. They finally accepted that the 35 reverse wave plate in the transmission was defective. Having that repaired now after transmission failure. Worst thing is the problems are becoming well know which affects the trade in value. GM should be responsible for that also.
Received multiple calls from this numbers, but CID jus says 'out-of-area'. They refused to identify themselves when asked who was calling. They kept asking for **name** which they could not pronounce. Very rude after that.
WARNING--Dont trust Grossinger Auto Group in the Chicago area. They like to fix things that are not broken, then you have to come back to have the original problem fixed. So you pay twice! Managers are slimey and can't be trusted.
