I do not suggest calling this unknown number. The scammers have all sorts of ways to trap people and get people’s information. If You want to communicate with your financial institutions, always Call the phone number at the back of your bank card. Then, request to transfer to the fraud department if you believe potential fraudulent account activites are going on.
Well, it is legit. Unfortunately in Canada, bank institutions DO ask for personal information over the phone (in my country, Brazil, they would never do that so you would know right away it is a fraud). After giving my personal information (card number, and confirming address and other info) i went to the internet and found this site.Oh my god, I got so scared. I ran to the branch like there was no tomorrow and changed my card there. Indeed, there was a message in my account informing that I should switch card and the lady confirmed the phone number as a TD valid number. No money was withdrawn from my account. What she explained to me was that they keep track of where you use your card and probably one of their customer got stolen and they were matching the information to check who else might have their card copied.Of course you should not trust what I write here, after all I can be part of the schema ;), so just to be sure, go to your TD branch and change your card. BUT DO IT QUICKLY. The message states that you should call the number OR go to a branch so take the safer path.Regards.
Too suspecious, or a scam. Easy to fix. Call your bank directly, don't go over random calls and messages.Protect yourself, think smart.
That's what pisses me. Very suspicious but still legit. But do as he said. Think smart and just go to your branch and ask them directly.
This is a legitimate number for the fraud division of TD Canada Trust. I called TD at their easy line number and they gave me this number for their fraud division. They also sorted out a problem I was having.d
i called back, when they asked me to confirm some info i got suspicious but then they explained how else i could go about getting in touch with tdi decided to proceed, all they told me was that my card was believed to have been duplicated and advised me to go to a td branch asap to get it replaced
yes, this is legit. if in doubt, call the phone number at the back of your TD client card. Somebody is stealing money from my account and TD's fraud computer system detected it. So I would suggest call TD right away.
I just got a call today from 1-866-808-7090, I called the number on the back of my bank card and TDCanada trust confirmed the 1-866-808-7090 was the Fraud team, and I need to come into the branch to get my bank cards replaced.
So I got a strange automated voice message from TD loss prevention saying that I should call them back. I didn't trust it because it sounded like Microsoft Sam (like a techno voice). I called TD customer service and asked them about the number and they told me that it was legit, and the woman solved my problem anyways. Turns out that I used my debit card at a location that was being investigated by the Ottawa Police Department concerning card duplication, so there is a freeze on my account... Call them back! Its best if you do, thats for sure.
I got a call from them a few days ago and ignored it thinking that it was just another scam since it was VERY suspicious. I was at work when I received the call so they left an automated message.I haven't used my card in a while and my boyfriend has my card and there's no money on it. So idk what they're talking about. I checked my online account and there's no freeze on my account :-S
