said they were chase bank and wanted my debit card number or social, did not sound legit
Received a call from this number asking for the last four digits of My wife or mine debit card number. Also, received a letter with chase logo stating to call this number because my social security number has been updated. This is fraudulent.
Got a message from someone saying they were from Chase and had an issue or question. Won't call them now, if they want something they can send something in the mail. Also, I have a rep who knows me, so he would call me or write a letter.
I received information in the mail and this was one of the contact numbers. The letter asked me to fill out a W-9 and a social security form. I called one of the branches directly from a phone number I looked up and they said they did not request this information and was glad I looked into it. Don't just assume that if you get something in the mail it is alright either. Scary how good these people are getting. Makes me ill just thinking about it.
This a legit phone # -- it's Chase's fraud protection dept. I called Chase Bank using the # on my card, and they confirmed that the # is legit and then transferred me to that dept. internally.
The number shown on caller id may be legit. However anyone can spoof their outgoing caller id to show whatever they want to. I'm very thankful for this website. It's nice to know we are not alone in this war against identity and credit scammers.
Sounds like a scam. They said they're from Chase Bank.
I called chase branch that I have the acct and they said this is the chase number. But they said if I am not comfortable releasing any information on the phone, I can come to the bank and call with bank officer. Good idea.
They are still doing it with the same phone number. Got a call saying they were chase and the call was urgent. They asked for my atm card number. I don't use my chase atm cards. Called chase from the number on the back of my credit card and they said there was no problem and to email them the phone number to abuse@chase.com
Got a call from a Chicago number - 312.325.3558 - saying that it was Chase and asking for the last 4 digits of one of my card numbers. I immediately asked them what this was about and they said they couldn't tell me without verifying my information. They then gave me the 877.382.8854 number and told me to call it when I felt "comfortable". Total scam.

It sucks. Scam calls are getting wilder than ever — they’re even spoofing IRCC’s number now.
