i got a call from dni recovery should i ignore them seeing i dont hve a checking account and no fraud was commited
I recceived a call x2 at work and also on my cell # from 877-855-1624 stating they were dni recovery stating they were a federal recovery agency trying collect from a loan company called cash today, said they were going to garnish wages by payroll deduction callers name was mrs randall, and said they have last 4 digits of ssn.
I got a call from a Ms. Johnson (ya right) saying the same thing. That I owed on a payday loan from Cash Today. I explained to her that I had already paid this loan off and I faxed them proof. They said if they didn't feel the proof I sent them was good enough they were going to file a wage garnishment on me. I work for attorneys and you cannot file a wage garnishment without first filing a complaint against someone. She said that wasn't true because with a payday loan you sign away your rights. I told them to send me anything I had signed showing that I had signed away my rights and I haven't received anything. Another payday loan company tried to garnish an employee's wages here without having a judgment and the office manager threw it away saying it was completely illegal. These people will use whatever threatening tactics they can to scare you into paying. If you owe a payday loan contact the company directly. NEVER PAY THESE SCUMBAGS WHO CALL YOU EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY. THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY AND YOU STILL OWE THE LOAN.
I recieved another calling my cell this time it was from Ms Brown saying she was from Ezelle Williams and associates needed me to return there call regarding a wage garnishment this time claiming i took out a loan from Cashnet.Com(payday loan) in 2005 which i didn't take out a loan out, that is was important to call them and that since i had signed the loan they had legal rights to garnish my wadges....I have contacted the FBI, the Consumer protection, the Secret Services, the three Credit report.... I do know that once you take out a loan they can tap into your into and claiming that you have signed for a loan. I have notify my payrole dept to be on the look out....I just don't know what else to do.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!! The FBI does not arrest people for payday loans. FYI - payday usa is a loan matchinbg company, they do not loan money, so you cannot owe them. These poeple have bought your information and are harrassing people and trying to scare them into pyaing with these threates of arrest. This scam has been running for two years now. Previously, all the caller have been middle eastern with americanized name like John Matthews, James Brown etc, No one here has nemtioned that so I am wondering if some american scammers have picked up on this. In any case report the names they use and the numbers to the FBI (they do investigate extortion - which is what this is) The Secret Service (they are repsonsible for gurading the nations financial networks, and since these scammers have stolen your infromaiotn, the networks have been breached) also your state attorney general, homeland security and the FTC. Check out the warning form Kansas Attorney General Steve Six - and scroll through this site - you will find tons of stories just like this. These people need to be kicked off the planet!!
I jus received a phone call also from First Point Aquisitions telling me that I have a pending complaint in their office and that I have gone out of state and federal regulations as far as a loan is concerned. They gave me two business days to call them back with a response from my attorney or they would be investigated further. I know I did take out some loans but I also paid some back. These were payday loans which i will never ever ever do again. I've been getting harrassed for about two years now. I understand now what people mean when they say if you can't pay something back then don't take it out in the first place. If I had the money available to me then I would surely pay them back everything.
Still getting calls but last was on 4/8/10 and then again today so 11 days without a call....and same stupid messages, either wage garnishment or federal investigation of check fraud...blah blah blah....
I called them back and this is what they said: I had apparently gotten a payday loan from Cashtoday.com back in 2004. This was the last resort before they began garnishing my pay check for 25%. So this is what I said back: First of all, there is no order, because any company with a garnishment order won't abstain from doing so in lieu of making an arrangement. And in order to get a garnishment, there has to be a judgement, which they don't have. Additionally, I told her that I would gladly pay it, but I hadn't received anything. When I was told they don't send statements out, I told her if she wanted to get paid, she was required to by law. I have never heard of this company, and the last thing I was going to do was pay her over the phone for a debt she couldn't even validate. I told her that anytime a company transfers a debt, the new company must contact the debtor within 30 days and allow them the option to dispute the validity of the debt. In short, if she wanted my new address to send me a statement, I'd gladly give it to her, but otherwise she wasn't getting a cent. She said ok, that she would mark me down as refusing to pay and proceed with the garnishment. I just said ok and hung up. Anyone who knows the law knows that they're full of it.
