I called the number, but used 800 instead of 888 and got a survey for a cruise. Called correctly and it was a US Bank card activation.
I was just called.... said unknown so I let it ring. no message left. Called at 4pm Saturday. Curious. I had activate a US Bank Visa 2 days ago and have used the new card without problems. I just checked the US Bank website, not messages. I NEVER conduct business with incoming calls but always go to the source by going to the website or calling the number I have. Anyone that calls is suspect.
Received a call on my cellphone on 9/16/2016. Did not answer & no message was left. I have blocked this # for now.
Browsing both the incoming numbers on my phone and 800notes I notice two incoming calls today from this number. I don't know if this is spam, scam, or legit. Indeed, I *did* recently apply for, and received, a US Bank Visa (Kroger/Smiths, et al.) First dealings I've ever had with US Bank. I "confirmed" my card via phone. Then I attempted to set up an online presence with US Bank's website. Ran into nothing but problems and errors. BOTTOM LINE ... I don't know if this telephone number is a scam and/or if US Bank Visa (Kroger/Smith's, et al) is truly legit. I'll be CAUTIOUSLY watching this credit card account!
I mistakenly called "800" today. Three separate attempts to market goods and services. Be sure to decline. I realized my error and dialed "888" which is legit activation number for US BANK and perhaps others using the activation service. An easy mistake to make as they say.
It is not legitimate. They do not call to remind you to activate your card. This number shows up as the number on the back of the card but is not from them. They called me several times after I had already activated it and were looking for my card info. When I asked for a number I could call back as I didn’t have my card, ‘Lenore Friedland’ said she would be happy to call me back. I insisted on calling her back and she fumbled around with some papers, audibly reading through her notes, and came up with the 888-200-9959 number which wants to charge you money for the activation service. No card charges you for activating.
