Related to the drug Enbrel. Used in treatment of arthritis and psoriasis. If your doctor has prescribed Enbrel to you, you will probably get a call from them.

These people called me requesting my personal information. I asked them who is they are since I didn't recognize the number and they refused to say who they were until I give them my personal information. I don't just give out personal information on the phone and definitely not to people who refuse to identify themselves. I now know who they are but I'm still not giving them any information unless they identify themselves and tell me why they want my information.

The issue with their identification is it may result in incidental disclosure of personal medical information to someone they are not supposed to release information to.I have the same issue with disclosing my personal information to anyone. In this case they called to verify insurance information. As I don't disclose my information to anyone I'm not sure about, I called Enbrel directly so that I knew who it was I was talking to.They understood completely. As a side note - I've dealt with my fair share of insurance and treatment run arounds since I developed arthritis. It seems the insurance community is perfectly happy to have healthy people pay large premiums. Once those healthy people become sick people, well, then the insurance companies play their games.Dealing directly with Enbrel has been the one bright spot (if there is such a thing) in having arthritis. They've always been professional, courteous, and I've never been dumped on my a-s-s the way I have with insurance companies.

I got a call from them today. At first I couldn't hear her very well, but didn't want to give personal information. I got the number and looked it up on here before calling back. After I realized who they were, I knew it was a legitimate call. They've called before. They have been very helpful with information and items I needed, such as a disposal container, alcohol wipes, etc. I don't have a problem with them and I was glad they called today. Yesterday, my doctor suspended my use of Enbrel because of a rash on my hands. When I told the caller that, she took down some information to send to the CDC. They have to report any potential side effects to them. Of course we won't know if it is a reaction to the drug until some time passes.

It is a Registered Nurse from Enbrel (Amgen - Pfizer). They want to check on you while using Enbrel and help you out with things like sharps disposal kits (free), Travel Kits, information, feedback and will set you up with reminders for your injections, symptom reporting and on-call RN's to help with anything you need. It's a good service, but yes they will not give out where they are from, because of HIPAA Privacy Rules AND if you're not who they're calling for, they may alert someone that you don't want to know, that you are on or considering Enbrel injections. So this is one case where asking you to identify yourself before they do, is the correct thing to do.

They can't say "enbrel" until they are 100% sure they are talking to the acutal pt and not some one else. THis is a FEDERAL regulation - it's called HIPAA. so, it's annoying but it is intended to protect the pt. Supposedly, in all the government's wisdom, if the person who answers the phone can provide their address and DOB and say they are the person requested then the nurse can proceed. Otherwise the government is afraid a nurse will tell someone who shouldn't know that so and so has a disease and needs medication. It's crazy, but it's supposed to to protect the patient's privacy. The nurses aren't trying to be secretive - they have to follow the law.

I agree was authorized by ENBREL, I use it.Not exactly defending them, they may hire another call center to verify insurance coverage. They have a support program, if you can't afford the arthritis drug they help out where insurance leaves off.

Just got a call from them. I am an Enbrel user and this call was to inquire if I was in an area that was impacted by power outages due to super storm Sandy. Enbrel must remain refrigerated and they wanted to make sure that I didn't have any questions or concerns regarding this. Actually have to hand it to this company, the customer support is outstanding. Their Enbrel Assist program keeps me informed about the product and also helps with the insurance co-pay.BTW, I'm an Enbrel user, no affiliation to the company so my kudos are real!
