Same thing as listed about, but trying to record voice saying "yes". Called UHC and is a scam. Hang up and block
They have called twice - it's an automated call. Supposedly it's United Healthcare but I was suspicious. They asked for personal data, and I immediately hung up.
They call from 888-470-1944. Did not answer. They said they were UHC; they left voice mail with callback # (same) and Confirmation #. Called, rang once, dead silence for 2 minutes. Hung up. Next week, call from same #, same Confirmation #. Called them from a different phone; they said they did not recognize the number and asked me for Confirm#. I punched it in (no voice). They read the Confirm # back and asked me if it was correct. I would not answer with 'yes' rather using the word 'correct'. Didn't fit their response dictionary, so after 5 tries, they gave up on me and hung up. No offer to transfer to a live rep. (They can capture the vocal of "yes" and use it elsewhere.
Caller from “United Healthcare” with important information for X. Please call 1(888)470-1944 using the confirmation number xxxx.
Called , left a voicemail, and said they were United Healthcare with a confirmation number. Doesnt match up to UHC's real number. Didnt call back
I had one of the calls in 2017 but I didn’t call that #, I called the United Members phone # on my United card instead. They said they didn’t know about any confirmation # but it might have been to enroll in the nurse management program. I just had the same call in Feb. 2018. I looked the # up on this site and read all the comments, so I called the United Members # again on my card. Again they told me it could have been for the nurse program. They also said they didn’t see any of their phone #’s matching that #. It is a scam. Don’t ever call them back because they are trying to get your birthday and other vital information from you. Always call the # you usually use for your insurance to question calls like that.
Same here. Same number called 2 days in a row. UHC asking me to call back with confirmation number. I doubt this is the nurse program from UHC. I am part of that program and my nurse has my number and is programmed in my phone, so that I know it is her. Seems like scam to me. I won't be calling back and I'm blocking.
Claimed to be UnitedHealthcare. I emailed UnitedHealthcare and they said this is NOT them and DO NOT GIVE THIS NUMBER PERSONAL INFORMATION. It is social engineering and a scam.
