Sorry Rachel at Cardholder Services but telemarketers cannot call you if you are registered with the Do Not Call Registry DNCR. There are exceptions such as if you are clients of their's but if you are not a client of Shaw they cannot call you the fine is hefty. Complain and eve still Shaw has to take you off their list if you request them to otherwise take your business to Telus

Automatic Dialers are illegal in Canada unless you have given express permission in writing to the perp and not for telemarketiing just for information. Report them

I was getting the same thing - a call at about 7 p.m. every day. As soon as I answered they hang up. If it went to voicemail, they wouldn't leave a message. I sent an email to Shaw customer service reminding them that I had left specific instructions with them to never contact me for any marketing purposes at all. Also mentioned that the number is on the dnc list, so continued calls would be harassment and would be reported to the crtc. I also stated that if the calls didn`t stop within 3 days, I would move my company services to Telus. No calls since.......

I have put my number on the "do not call" list. it is a government website where you put in your number and i haven't had calls for marketing stuff for years but i guess they are not considered marketing??

I have received 10 calls from this number in the last 24 hours!! I am not even with shaw anymore, and this is a new cell phone number. How the heck do they even get it!?

I keep getting calls to my cellphone from 11 888 472 2222 they never leave a message and if answer it is just silient then the call is disconnected. I called Shaw based on other posts on this page. They put me on a do-not-call list but were surprised that I would get calls from them because I am already a customer. If this works and the calls stop I will post back that it was indeed Shaw calling.

Ya ya ya. Everyone has a lawyer. Lawyers can't do anything about phone solicitation, because if they could, this site would not be necessary. Take a Valium, look at your call display, and don't answer the phone.

One thing to be aware of is that the DNC list allows companies that you have had a previous business relationship to call you. You can of course ask that they put you on their internal DNC and they should do that. Here's a list of who is exempt from the DNC LIST. Canadian registered charities; Political parties; Nomination contestants, leadership contestants, or federal, provincial or municipal candidates; General circulation newspapers calling for the purpose of selling a subscription; Calls to a consumer who has an existing business relationship with the organization; Calls to a consumer who has given express consent to be called; and Calls to business consumers.
