They are actually Merrill Edge. I went in to speak with a personal banker, and after being alerted of my recent college graduation, they set me up to speak with a financial advisor. I made the appointment with them. Maybe sometimes they call you without notice. Either way, every Bank of America customer gets a complimentary 30 minute call with an advisor.

The phone number if you call back says "Merrill Edge" not Merrill Lynch. And they ask fir you to input your account number. I read somewhere ekes that this is a stock dumping group. Trying to unload bad stocks, so they get the commissions.

I have Merrill Edge accounts and received a call this morning from 888-654-6837 from a very unclear Ahmed something, we thought it sounded sketchy. After signing into my account and calling Merrill directly they verified that this number is indeed their advisory consultation department's number. It's just a service they offer that you pay for for advice concerning your investments. It is not a scam. The Merrill guy we talked to said if you aren't interested just don't call it back.
