Received a call from this number, the display showed the name as being "HR". A reverse search indicates no match for the phone number. Person on the phone says that my credit card has been compromised and they will cancel my credit card and will send me a new card with a new number. Sounds like a load of BS because I stopped using my Canadian Tire credit card because when I used it in the United States, their exchange rate was 2% higher than another Mastercard used on the same day which should have had the same exchange rate. Word of advice, don't use your Canadian Tire Mastercard outside of Canada because they will gouge you with the exchange rate.
got this number called a few times to my mobile. they didn't left a message. When I called back, the auto said " the number you have reached is not in service".... haha....definitely a spam call.
This number called left a message to call back on another line. Which was the same number on the back of my Canadian tire credit card. If your card is compromised they call from this number to let you know they will send you a new card as long as you verify your information.
I received a call from this number today in Montreal.I don't answer long distance phone numbers because the majority of them are scams. If you are all saying that this is a legitimate number from Canadian Tire Services then why would they be calling me?I have no Canadian Tire credit card and I've never purchased anything from them on line. When I do go to their stores I pay cash. I've never returned anything so they don't have any reason to even have my phone number in the first place. Why you would even give your social insurance number out to anyone is beyond me. If you did, you should report it right away as you've just helped the criminals commit fraud. Your social insurance number is your personal identification and should never be given out to anyone especially someone on the phone. When my bank asked me for this information I said "No" and they told me it was within my rights.I also called Canadian Tire's security department and they told me that they do not call from a 905 number. If they were to call it would be a 1-800 toll free number.
Got a call from them this morning. They left a voicemail with a toll free call back number. Same number that's on the back of my Canadian Tire MasterCard. Called back, after confirming my basic information they told me that they are doing random screenings and asked what I had purchased last. I told them and they said "no problem, no issues, just want to make sure this online purchase was actually made by you." Funny enough, I made another online purchase this evening and they called me within minutes to confirm it was actually me. Been using this card for years and never had this happen. Something must have gone down for them to be this strict.
I didn't answer originally but did call them back. It was the Canadian Tire Security Department verifying my change of personal info. The call was legit.
