Got this call this morning. From Canadian Tire Bank (Store Credit card). She offered me a 9% interest rate instead of the regular 19.5% because I sent them back the card cut in half after paying my balance. Too late for the better rate, I've already made up my mind!

Yes, it is CanadianTire Bank calling legitimately to check something real out with you. Staff are helpful and friendly, clear and courteous. Call back to ask what's up -- they may be protecting you. My call just now from 9057144035 was to alert me that I need to pay my minimum this month to stay out of hot water! I appreciate the reminder.
They just called me minutes after I had made an on-line purchase to confirm that it was me that used the card. I think it is great, as Visa never did this after someone used my card.
