Caller ID said: Ossining NYRecorded call said I had been selected for a survey and that if I did it, I would get a free cruise but with a "small port fee". It said press 1 to take part or 9 to be removed from their list, pressed 9 and it said it removed me.

"If [I] participate in the survey on the debt crisis, [I'll] get two free tickets for a cruise in the Bahamas." Haha, yeah right. I'd much rather be stuck in the snow banks at home. I hung up on the automated message anyway.

That is one of the best ideas that I've heard. We should to the extent possible, hold the phone companies responsible. With satellite technology, they should be able to determine if the call is from somewhere in the US, or a foreign country. However, they can change their number to anything almost instantly. I've frequently received such calls from numbers with 000-000-0000. Something needs to be done. Meanwhile, please folks, never give our pertinent information, even your name, to unknown parties that call.

Wow Homeland, paranoid much? It's a scam, just like thousands of other phone scams. If you have caller ID and don't recognize the number calling, don't answer it! If you have to answer and don't like what is being said...HANG UP.

same thing here 9143737134 Ossining, NY. You all need Ooma phone service. I have had it for three months now and my BS calls have dropped off considerably. You can block these calls by adding it to your profile

I was already ON the phone this afternoon, but during my chat with a friend, I heard the Call Waiting beep occurring. I ignored it and kept talking to my friend. When I checked the caller ID for that missed call, it gave me the 914-373-7134 number. I tried to call back to see who it was, but a recording in my phone said the number could not be completed as dialed. Now after a Google search I see the truth!

I block, then report to the Sheriff's Department that handle scam calls made to Senior Citizens.

I just received a call from 914-373-7134 ...left no message, but after seeing this...very interesting the different calls folks are getting from this same # and I looked it is in NY...some Design Co. but im guessing is a ruse...

I got a call today.. did not answer since the number was unfamiliar. No message left. Thank goodness I went online to do some searching. Sounds like a scam for sure!
