I just got a call and hung up. I knew it was a scam because the recording didn't say what credit card company they were with. I implore anyone who gets these calls to contact their provider and complain that is the only way anything can be done. These people are scam artist with no careers or futures. They care very little about doing honest work.

The same thing happened to me too, except I was trying to get my 8 hours of sleep. Then they called and woke me up. I'm grumpy now.

They offered to lower my interest rates. As I am a paranoid conspiracy theorist and do not have credit, I yelled HOOFUS at them an hung up. They call back frequently, and I am thinking about eliminating them.

These folks keep calling cell pretending to be from Card Services, I do not even have a credit card. I opt for #1 to "reduce the interest rate"...get a person to answer and ask that they take my phone number out of their database CLICK...they hang up each time. There must be a way to stop this? any advice??

I finaly got a hold of a person after reciving many calls from this company they are some company that is buying numbers from equafax... its from when I signed up for a free credit report... which once again is never really free huh?

Montana number, got the call. I don't usually pick up unknown numbers, so I searched for the number and this forum was the first thing I found. Thanks everyone for the info, don't need to waste my time with these fools.

I get calls like this all the time...I just hit the "shut up" button and go on with my day...I don't think there is much you can do...when these idiots stop, someone else will start.

Same here, I live in Montana, and don't answer unknown numbers..... I prefer to check here first :)

I like django's idea of hitting the "shut up" button. I want one of those.Also like a couple folks' reply, "I don't want to decrease my interest". That cracked me up! Love it!

Why can't the government do something about these calls and these company. If everyone called the FBI (because they deal with federal issues - cross state boundaries) and complained that they were "terrorized by companies like this maybe the "feds" would put a stop to the [***]!
